The good part is, you get to choose what you believe, not a minister or anyone else, just you. We are all wanting something better than what we have, which I think God has put inside us, that there is a better place. You are not forced into believing in God, you are asked to and, you make that decision. We all believe in something, the question is what. Something that will last forever or something that will not.

Great motivational speaker... I don’t know if he’s a christian?
Yes, I would agree, however at this point in my career with Genetech, motivation is what I need because Genentech no longer provides that. I have days where I lay in bed all day and input calls because I’m too depressed to get out and see my oncology targets. My friend, who works in lytics, says I should transfer to his division because Activase sells itself with absolutely no promotional effort. Must be nice. He is very lucky that he works very few hours in a week still makes a nice bonus.

Lots of wierdos on this site, that’s for sure!

This thread has officially jumped the shark.
Next up ... penis enlarging pills and a survey that guarantees you’ll win a $10,000 vacation to Las Vegas

More important than the usual crazy responses to a valid post or two is the fact that there are any posts at all on a
Genentech thread. Fact: the people in the field still working here are either riding it out waiting for a payday (or payout), aren’t marketable for any reason, or have gotten really used to not working hard and know that any other company will actually expect you to do the bare minimum. It’s embarrassing to say you’re from Genentech in an interview. I’ve started saying Roche ruined Genentech. #truth

This is so true from an insider’s point of view but recruiters and hiring managers still ask “Why would you ever want to leave Genentech”. So get out before the truth be known.

Ordinarily I’d agree but in the past year or two the truth is slowly coming out. One needs only to read the financial press and the many (many) bio similars for our blockbusters being approved weekly, as well as the succession of mildly exciting study results (or more commonly disappointing results) for the stuff that’s supposed to make up the difference.

Once again, stop trusting in Genentech, it will fail at some point. We have all seen it coming in the past few years with all the mgmt changes and poor hires. Try going to Church and pt your hope in something else. Genentech is just a job.
