Do you think those laid off will still receive Feb bonus?

Also, is there a correlation between those who did not get samples and being laid off? In my territory, 2 of us got samples and 2 did not...
 
























Honestly I am praying for severance. Can you imagine going to a sales meeting after this? I am picturing holding moments of silence for those who won who aren't even with the company any longer? WAS there even a sales meeting booked? Was searching for the memo and can't even find the name of the resort to call BS. Prayers are with everyone today.
 






Bonus has to be paid. We earned the money in Q4, it's legally ours.
What's the betting the M&G calls are all in the PM? OSR's should all have the 'flu' today.
So many rumors, best to just wait for the call and not stir the pot any more...
 












Good luck everyone- this is ALL a novartis thing- this is exactly how they do layoffs and reorgs. It was a pleasure to have worked at Alcon with all of you. Hopefully the cuts won't be deep and we can continue on. Alcon has changed so much- I barley recognize the company anymore. Best of luck M, G and SEE reps. Innovex hang in there it's not over yet- there can always be another contract somewhere eles. let the countdown begin.....
 


















While this is certainly sad, a layoff can be a good thing for the future.

Get out of pharma for your next gig. Go sell copiers. Go sell payroll. Get experience selling a tangible product. Then sell something more advanced. Face it, the drug rep gig gives you skills that most sales companies don't respect, so while you will start over, in a few years youll make more than Alcon and be happier. There is a long list of Alcon employees who left pharma to sell real products.

You will find yourself more liberated when you free yourself of the micromanagement of Alcon and other drug companies. No more lunches, much less ride-alongs, no trainings with 4 hours at a time of role-playing.

I truly hope you all saved for this.
 












Just got off the phone with my DM. This is a sh!tty day indeed. I still have my job as a G, but my G counterpart is being let go. I guess they are only keeping one G or migrating one of the G's to a new territory to make them geographically smaller. So some might be staying with Alcon just new smaller territories. M's are ok except for a few in smaller or managed care challenged markets. Some M territories will get larger to cover the dissolved ones. O's are gone but will be allowed to interview for any vacancies as will anyone else let go. My manager said there are a bunch open due to the hiring freeze the last few months. SEE is downsizing with select reps staying on to join the Vision Care division. This is crazy! Best of luck to everyone and my sympathies for those leaving the company today. The culture here has changed drastically in a negative way over the past 3 years and I feel much of that can be attributed to upper management and our leadership team. Our value to the company has declined in their eyes and they've shown us how little we matter. Maybe these layoffs are a blessing to many...

That was really well said, thank you for that and for being a mature colleague. It's very true, and I pray that the Quintiles reps and any displaced Alcon reps get a severance that will help support their families until they find new jobs.
