Did AZ put rep in danger of getting Covid?

AZ has had a bad reputation for several years now, much of it linked to poor leaders. We are known for aggressively promoting demographics, and that hasn’t helped. It is clear this company doesn’t know how to handle COVID either. Many reps were harassed for tying to make things happen during the pandemic, and some were actually fired all while the company pushed us to be unsafe - see the Gilot video for evidence of this. This is not the place people want to work.
I was talking with a friend at another Pharma company the other day, and she brought up that video. Funny, she said she’d heard it was some kind of smoking gun situation, as if it had been recorded secretly. She didn’t realize that it was actually recorded intentionally and put on the company social media
platform for many to see. Not a good optic for us, that’s for sure.
 




Yes, of course AZ is putting us in danger. The higher ups are not out in the field day after day being exposed to getting Covid. They only care about the bottom dollar which has a direct correlation to their personal bank account. It is always about money.

I’m PC in Atlanta. We were pushed out so early that my DM got COVID during a closed lunch and learn that she insisted on being at! To save her Job Not Mine! Get You Sh!t together…this layoff will be ugly!
When you meet them in the hallway, the parking lot, or the back door, it’s ok to stay 6 feet away as long as they can see your sales aid, and you better close! Now go sell, bitches!!!

Boo freaking hoo. For goodness sake, what do want? A full paycheck while sitting on your ass at home while pretending to do zoom calls with providers? AZ nor any other company owe you a paycheck for doing little to nothing. When this China virus hit, they were beyond gracious in their response. At some point, they had to say enough is enough. And no, I am not a senior leader, just a person in the field.

“After some time” was a couple of months in, and urging us to chase HCPs down by doing “whatever it takes” are NOT examples of good corporate citizenship. To say we want or expect better than that is a serious understatement. The companies that were “paying reps to sit around on their asses” are now KICKING our asses, and that’s just a fact. Poor leadership bordering on criminal behavior, period!
 




















Regarding safety and Covid. I called BS on this post. Leadership was very clear about making decisions about your safety and what you’re comfortable with. They said you can work virtually, in person or hybrid. Whatever you were comfortable with and your territory allowed. That is a fact. As long as you drove sales, it was your call regarding customer contact. If your manager isn’t on board with corporate governance than you have the option of straight talk with your manager or HR. I am grateful to be able to have in person conversations with my HCP’s, being mindful that not all reps have that option.

Quite the opposite here. We are being told to get out there and sell with no regard to our safety. Apparently our manager thinks being vaccinated is like being totally immune to Covid 19.

Spot on. “Do what you feel you need to do”, but here is a spreadsheet with your live vs virtual calls, and you “need to get creative” by going to the back door. Say one thing, do the opposite. That’s the AZ way, and Bob modeled it perfectly.
