Dermatology Expansion

If you have a salary low enough to accept here, then believe me, Amgen won't notice.

Now if you were one of the dermatology stars, who's won 4-6 awards and already have a salary above $175k, then someone will notice.

It’s not about noticing. They are proactively trying to screw Celgene folks because they are bitter and pathetic. They don’t have to expend additional resources to go after more people. Whether it’s 1 rep or 20 reps it will take Amgen the same level of work to send a legal letter to Incyte explains the non solicit violation. Incyte will then decide if it wants to fight for them or drop them.

The reps I’m aware of were Rheum reps, so I believe the non- solicit does not apply to them. Am I Correct?

What recruiter are they using?

Has anyone gotten an offer yet for a rep in derm? If so, happy?

Offers are being sent. They are not super aggressive. It appears they are trying to match your existing salary if they can. 20k in stock in June or July and somewhere around 10k signing bonus. Salaries are below what a typical “biologic” rep makes. It appears the max is 130. Good health insurance and 6% 401k match with 100% vesting right away. It’s going to be hard to get exp biologic reps unless there are other motivating circumstances. These offers will be good for reps that haven’t been in derm 5+ years and are looking for something new in atopic. Good luck to all that are interested.

Don't ever underestimate how the toxicity of culture can convince someone to leave $25k of salary on the table just to come to a new start.

I am an Amgen Otezla rep and I'm thinking of making the jump simply because Amgen is so weird.

In Florida, we have a newbie DM who is throwing his weight around trying to bully me into doing at least 4 Veeva Engage interactions per day. He's smart enough not to put it in writing, but multiple times he's verbally told me that if I can't make that happen, I will be enrolled in a formal Performance Improvement Plan. I went to the Regional, who herself is new and entirely in over her head, and she supports the DM and had the nerve to tell me that if my Otezla relationships were actually so impressive, then I should leverage them to gain Veeva Engages! She said she needs to show "traction" on this metric to J. When I tried to explain that I like to use my relationships to sell, not crate activity, she cut me off and told me she needed me to show some tenacity and offered to send me a book on "grit"

Sorry to hear about your situation and wish you the best. I do think you are making my point for me. I think your situations falls under the category “other motivating circumstances”. You are not running to this company you are running from your existing and I understand and sympathize with your motivations. I wish you the best and hope you land it as it sounds perfect for you at this time.

“relationships are so impressive” haha, if my RM or DM said that to me I would balk and say, “I never said I had good relationships! Jokes on you Amgen”

Agree with the poster who said you are being forced out. How many years at Amgen and how high is your base pay? Amgen is glorified PCP big pharma company now and would likely prefer young sheep who will follow their marching orders and pay them 40-50k less than you.
