Can you elaborate on why you say that? Aren’t the dates on the Warn 2/21, 3/3 etc?
Those are the dates the people are actually severed from the company. How warn works is they first tell the employee, then the state after the announcement. The upcoming layoffs won’t be shown on warm nj until after we know.
 








Well sure, they’ll have to interview and NOT be a unmitigated disaster or have an unsatisfactory track record, etc. But Novartis is currently exercising a one for one or headcount neutral mandate meaning if they lose 100 reps from CRM et al, they will add 100 positions somewhere else. Not to mention it saves the company millions in severance packages. I’m not saying everybody from CRM will come over or find a spot somewhere else, but certainly a big chunk. It’s a win-win for NVS as long as displaced folks aren’t a complete carcass.
I have never heard any upper leadership say "one for one, or headcount neutral mandate" within Novartis. Where did you hear that?
 








Not sure about the 50% reduction. If going to 8 RDs, that is still 10ish ABLs to an RD. Aren’t there only about 120-130 ABLs now. If was a 50% reduction would be going to 6 RDs. If 80ish ABLs left, you’re still keeping a lot of reps. Prob more than needed.
 
























The reorg from 2 years ago was lead by Duane. Think about that. That reorg was an inside job w/ minimal consultants - mostly Novartis mapping. The same people who cannot provide data, used their data to design our territories and areas and the absolute worst sales veep in the entire industry signed off on it.
The new regions and areas will have different boundaries and territories. if cuts are extend territories will look similar to pre Duane cv1, if cuts moderate they’ll be similar to pre Duane cv2. Not saying they’ll be the same but they will be similar in size.

This is what I'm saying. It's so silly, people aren't giving it their all when they are waiting for the axe to fall. What's the point. Everyone guessing. People making things up. But I agree with above, start looking and control your own destiny.
 








Well, regardless of the date, which will be in the next 30-60 days. 120 reps will be absorbed into allergy or immunology launching and selling Remi/Cosentyx. Great, we get the bottom of the barrel of a floundering division...can’t wait. (Eye roll)
They will not just be “absorbed”. We don’t want any shit CV reps that have been with Novartis for eons and have never worked in any other area. You will have to interview and COMPETE for positions just like all of the other teams over the years that have been dissolved. Example - displaced Xolair reps were not “absorbed” in the new allergy team. They had to interview and compete for positions and many didn’t get hired

For what its worth, Novartis will continue to suffer and lack culture until they fire Des Creary. He is the virus of this US organization. He is not a leader of people. I also put the blame on Victor Bulto since he hired Des. This reorg should start with Des being fired.
 
























It should be cut to 6 RDs but they won't do that. Most or the reps I talk to aren't even doing anything because of how shitty the bonus and credit structure is anyway. Team bonus= why work

Exactly. You can control the outcome by looking for a new role now. There are other companies besides Novartis. And fuck Novartis with their ongoing reorganizations and having to reapply for roles.

They’re hoping they can leave us in panic mode long enough to save themselves the severance packages. No way. I’m marketable. I’m taking that severance or if I don’t get one, I can always look for a better job after that if I want. Don’t tell me how many Novartians will be out there looking for work- it depends on where you live. Where I live, managers struggle to find good candidates.
 








They do the NDA to keep the RDs quiet and not talk to their ABLs while they figure out things.
If they talk and executive team finds outs, RD would lose their job.
I heard a reduction to 8 regions from 12. Larger geographies, with 40-50% reduction in ABLs and TAS.
Not sure on the parameters given to ZS.
CV1 reps probably have an advantage because I'm sure they want to keep the call continuum for Leqvio during this process.

I have heard basically the same thing, but with a cut of about 1/3 of ABL and TAS. I know some reps have been contacted on changing divisions. For people they want to make sure to keep.
 








1/3 makes more sense if going with the 8 RDs. Agree could be 6 RDs. Say rumors are correct with 8 RDs. Given the number of open territories nationwide the cuts won’t look that deep. Areas with reps with zero openings may be affected but Novartis will still beable to claim it was a minor realignment.
