“This is the world now” that’s what the Nazi’s said when they invaded Poland.
this comparison is so utterly ridiculous.

I seriously doubt they're worried about an exodus. They know most of you will blink because you have nowhere else to go unless you move and/or take a big step down in your standard of living. They do golden handcuffs better than just about anyone else I've seen.
Employment is a choice as well, you either choose to have the requirements, skill, and experience of the job or you dont. Cant be in sales without a bachelors degree, no one is throwing an uprising over that. Get the jab or leave. We care not.I am PRO-VACCINE for high risk individuals…. those whom the risk/reward ratio makes sense.
I am also PRO-FREEDOM of CHOICE.
Everyone in this nation should have the right to make their own choice and NOT be intimidated, threatened with their job, and bullied.
Shame on the Dave Ricks!

I enjoy watching the back and forth on this. But for those of you threatening to leave over this, you really need to quit CafePharma and get to work on your job search.I am PRO-VACCINE for high risk individuals…. those whom the risk/reward ratio makes sense.

It is August 20th. It generally takes 3 months minimum to find a new job, even longer if you are older and more experienced. You need to find a company that doesn't require the vaccine. You need to be ready with your CV and interviewing skills. You need to have a well-rehearsed answer to an interviewer's question of why you are leaving, especially if you've been there a long time. And you may very well need to explain why you are currently unemployed.
Can you see why Lilly won't blink?
Great! Time to start working the plan. Not many companies are requiring it. For example anyone that sells Taltz could look at Novartis which has openings in Rheumatology/Derm they pay more and don't mandate it.
As far are a reason to leave- always use career growth and development which is pretty blocked here except for people in the club.
I left Lilly for the same reason, haven't regretted it for a minute. But leave on your terms and your timing, not over something like this. Get the jab if you haven't already, take two sick days because the side effects are bad (but they're really not), and use the time to plan your escape. You can do this!To the above responses: just because the company totally can, doesn’t mean it isn’t weird or wrong to do it. the company could ban Pride or American flags on campus, the majority of employees could even agree, but that would still be a bad thing.
this is the same as the lawyer saying you can’t sue us so we’re not worried about it on the town hall.
this is a bad corporate culture being formed in real time.
Lilly can’t mandate the vaccine. They can ask, “require” that you take it. The vaccine was NOT a mandate/stipulation when you were employed. Let them try to fire someone for not taking the vaccine and see what happens. Lol
Instead of the vaccine mandate maybe they should mandate having a BMI 25 and under! CV and diabetes kills more people per day than COVID does any day!
Simply not true. Our total compensation package is very competitive on a national level. You may know one person who left and got a higher salary somewhere else - that happens, but doesn't mean you could. Also, it's not just about pay - you have to look at TOTAL compensation.WRONG!!! Lilly pays less than most other companies!

This is completely false. Lilly offers one of the lowest annual target commission structures.
Lilly is actually discussing changing their pay grade because they are being raided by other companies that offer higher base & higher annual target bonus.
Our medical benefits are ok and definitely not the greatest.
And the pension plan helps but if you are under the newer pension plan then you need to look in to how little it will help you.
Lilly has been hiring young people with no experience so they can pay them bottom dollar and thought they’d keep them, but so many have left and are looking to leave because other companies pay much much better. So Lilly loses all that money constantly training turn over positions. Abs milky is so big on customer continuity & won’t promote people unless they’ve been in their position for 2 years but because of their low ball pay they can’t keep customer continuity because of the turn over

Maybe you're right, maybe you're wrong. People leave jobs all the time for better compensation and benefits. So by all means... be looking, you'd be crazy no to.This is completely false. Lilly offers one of the lowest annual target commission structures.

But one thing is generally true... your value and leverage go down the minute you are unemployed, unless you have some hard-to-find skill. It would be really short-sighted to leave before you have something lined up you're happy with, just because you refuse to get the jab.
To the people who say there will be big attrition because of this, same thing... maybe you're right, maybe you're wrong. But if you're right, there are going to be quite a few ex-Lilly people suddenly in the market looking for jobs. Think about what that could also do to your value and leverage.
Get the jab and leave on your terms, not Lilly's.
Very interesting change in policy, especially on the day a new article hit the main stream news showing Pfizer vaccine efficacy dropped to 42% in July. Comparison of two highly-effective mRNA vaccines for COVID-19 during periods of Alpha and Delta variant prevalence
Given Lilly stopped distributing bamlanivimab due to lack of efficacy from variants, its a matter of time until the vaccines are ineffective.
For those who will be quick to blame the unvaccinated for variants, please hold on and do your research....
The vaccinated still allows individuals to carry, shed and transmit active virus. They do not prevent infection nor do they eliminate or cause the virus to be inactivated. A recent study out of Wisconsin showing vaccinated individuals carried as high of a viral load as unvaccinated counterparts. As long as vaccinated carry active virus, they will bread mutations--this has been demonstrated in viruses prior to COVID19, with data to demonstrate the vaccinate will produce more serious variants than unvaccinated.
For now, vaccines work, but this policy is a scary, precedent setting step. But hey, as Dave Ricks said, this is in the best interest of employee health and that is our #1 priority. Maybe future policies should focus on reducing risk factors for COVID, like policies that require reductions in BMI. If employee health is #1 priority, then lets really get to work on making this priority a reality!!
Finally, once everyone is vaccinated, the 'work from home' policy will be revised, not allowing flexibility provided today....For office based employees, your work from home days are limited.
