Complete Employee Disaster

No one??

Perhaps the anonymous poster should ask Our Team.
"Our Team" sounds like multiple demons inhabiting the same body. Wait, it is multiple demons inhabiting the same body.
I cannot believe anyone in the ELT, or many of those in the SLTs, are still gainfully employed. But they are and shit keeps spiraling down the hole. The rumors and discussions at the watering holes make any efforts by Alcami management to turn this around futile. And it is going to be near impossible to re-inflate a good customer base even if the slate was cleared today. Alcami's reputation is one of the worst in the industry.
Never should have taken this job.
Slog.

Another day, another 1 star Glassdoor review. Two reviews, actually.

I was just starting to wonder if things were improving, (is it possible to get worse??) when these two popped up. So I checked the indeed advanced resume page. 34 new or updated seekers since April 1st (about 1.3 months). During the first quarter, there were 36. So the same number of seekers (more/less) but in less than half the time.

Improving? You must wonder what i was smoking. I wasn’t... I just have spent too much time in the production bays.

Try hanging out in the hall by the maintenance shop.

This place must be a prime spot for recruiters. To pluck talent out, that is. No self respecting head hunter would place a candidate here.

Prime spot for unionization too. Imagine that — place gets unionized. Safe and proper work environment ensues. Employees stay more than two years. Productivity improves. Place becomes profitable.

Riddle me this, Batman. In what universe would a company benefit from unionizing??

Not sure about the union piece. Topic for another discussion.
But I do know about recruiters. I have talked with no less than 4 (1 from the Wilmington area) who completely understand the disaster that is the ELT. They call the circumstances "bad culture". Put a person into Alcami and they KNOW the person who they place will NEVER use them again. Getting them out is a different story. Lots of damaged goods and the pickings get thinning by the day.
Alcami is known as a horrible place for professionals throughout the industry. Why does the ELT stay? From the perspective of owners - they deliver, at least for now. As far as from the pharma industry, they have few options. Maybe they can get positions in chemical industry.
Customer base will be falling, too, with each contract expiration. Those poor scientists and project managers.
Union? That would not help the salaried side anyway.

Unions need not represent labor positions only. Chemists, engineers, accountants, you name it. They too can join.

Happened at AOSmith several years ago.

As for ELT.....2/5 of them are gone. And its been about a year since Mad Dear purchased. Maybe the housekeeping has begun. Mr Moneybags is a good guy; hope he stays. The entire manufacturing operation.....well, I’d hate to be in his designer shoes. And socks. Hoping it spills downhill.

Happy Mothers Day to all you Moms and women who care for others.

40% turn over would impact any business. If it is the newbies then it is not so bad, keeping your experienced staff is the trick.

How is that Alcami Biologics going? How many fills have you screwed up in Charleston? How many bioassays has Durham developed....none?

It is interesting, MD partners invested in that company to either make cash or build equity/brand and sell. In either of these scenarios it doesn't appear that they are hitting the mark. In most scenarios the board would have stepped in by now (in a firefighting mode) Maybe they are, who knows but the dumpster fire is certainly entertaining to watch.

he is?

Golly!
They keep people on for a short time so as not to cause panic. A deal is cut. They are probably putting out the word that there is an illness in the family or that they want to spend more time with loved ones. Then comes the traditional termination bullshit that they left to "explore other opportunities".

After witnessing the falsehoods and being told to lie to customers myself, I simply see no way this company ever builds a customer base for custom manufacturing. And biologics? You have to be kidding.

Germantown is a complete mess. But the SLT socks man continues to play the fiddle.

This thread appears to be the same people claiming the same things over and over. What you don't hear is actual issues or problems that could be aired and that would actually make a difference.

If you honestly think there’s nothing wrong with culture in GT you have either never worked there or you are part of the problem.

Don’t expect people to cite examples because it could reveal their identity. The worst incidents I’ve seen happened in small groups. If you want an actual issue, fine. Public embarrassment of an overworked employee. It could be nearly anyone.

HR and SLT are also rumored to monitor this page and Glassdoor. If that’s true its unbelievably pathetic and insecure, and also a good reason to be careful.

If you want to make a difference you would get rid of a hand full of individuals in management.

Why do people keep coming back here and adding to this thread? Maybe it’s the hope that someone at MD finally stumbles upon this page and starts to connect the dots… I bet 90% of the GT staff would identify the same patient zero if only someone would ask, and Sweet Jesus its overdue.
