Company cars or car allowance

I just calculated with all the miles that I will be driving covering my new territory, my company auto allowance will barley cover my monthly gas charges. I’ll be out of pocket for car note, insurance, oil changes, brakes and tires. I think I messed up coming here.

Ya, no matter how you look at it, it is expensive. If you have a big territory (like you) or if you have a downtown territory (where we do not drive as much but parking is brutal, but can take public transit which still adds up fast) it is not enough money.

Obviously you are not city rep. When you have pay $20,40 even $60 to park you car...you plan your day around using subways, uber, etc.

You are new to pharma or have an easy territory. You assume all territories are the same and can accept sample. Did you ever think about patient programs, vouchers etc. Lol! Some territories you can't sample kid

i did really well interviewing and my physical appearance always plays a huge roll for me getting pharma jobs over more exp reps. It’s pharma and not rocket science. Plus do really think docs want to hear from some Middle Aged Lug Head like you trying to justify the safety of some useless drug and telling them to use vouchers and all will be good? Reps like you are why a hottie like me has had a great few years in pharma thus far. Thanks for being you it enables reps like me.

Poor kid. I am presidents club and last I heard, Ingrezza is not a "useless drug". If anything its the money I bring in that allows Neurocrine to hire eye candy like you. There are only 10-12 reps in this entire company that bring in the volume I do. Sadly, you brag about needing samples and here I do not need them. I guess your looks are only taking you so far...unless you are ugly and only think you are good looking. You probably have no idea what is going on in your territory.

It varies by territory. Some are getting less than $600 coming in on the LTC expansion, and its not a small territory at all. It is beyond pathetic, ESPECIALLY given the price of cars right now.
 




$600 will hardly cover gas alone. What about car note, insurance and maintenance? This is an absolute insult to not cover these expenses and to expect reps to out of pocket them. The market dictates otherwise! These crappy company benefits will attract the rebound reps who lost their jobs or running from a bad situation but will always be a revolving door of rep turnover here. Gotta take care of your reps and that means good pay and don’t have out of pocket expenses. Damn!

Aren't you the whiney little entitled pharma rep now!!! You guys were all over these boards weeks ago bashing how so many companies weren't paying what Neurocrine was paying in base salaries. Now that you don't get a fleet vehicle and you're also starting to realize how "below industry" your company benefits are, everyone is starting to realize how good you had it. Did you not think that $20-$30K bump was almost a lateral move when you factor in the benefit of a FREE car? And now on top of that, you have bigger problems with trying to sell a dirty drug that is all over the FDA Watch boards due to increased adverse events. Go somewhere else and cry to someone who might care.
