Company cars or car allowance

Just read through this thread and here is some perspective on the company car thing. I actually get both sides of the debate. Big Pharma usually provides cars as part of their total comp package to help compensate for lower base salaries. Rare disease usually does not provide company cars as they don’t need to due to much larger base salaries. Sounds like the issue at Neurocrine is they act like they are not big Pharma and try to portray they are rare disease. They pay more in line with big Pharma which sounds like it is the root of this debate. IMO 150-170 base pay is a large ask for reps to buy their own cars for work. Rare pays 180-200+ which is a much easier ask for reps to buy a work car. Neurocrine needs to shit or get of the pot. Pay reps more if they’re not going to offer cars. Or else continue to pay Pharma like salaries and offer cars.
