Changes in Institutional Sales - return of LTC?

Question. If reps get sent over too, without choice, is this a resume killer? I've been in hospitals my entire career and don't want LTC to affect future hiring potential. People are saying its a much easier job, but it sound monotonous.

It isnt a resume killer because just don't put it on your resume. A future employer will never know. However, there aren't many jobs out there anymore in hospitals. When was the last time you even saw another hospital rep from another company besides the Zyvox rejects?

Here's what's most likely going to happen. They're going to have the live video webex tomorrow and try to sell this realignment as a great opportunity to sell a billion dollar drug and a new set of skills to learn and blah blah blah rah rah rah. Then after they sell us on how either going to LTC or the reps who stay in hospital setting are both great opportunities with future products they will tell us they are still working out the finalized details of the realignment and each DM will have a conf call with their division on Friday to roll out the new changes. This is all just my guess. I'm not in mgmt or work at the home office or anything.

They absolutley know but this is the Forest way. Upper mgmt actually thinks by doing it this way and waiting until Friday to tell us that they are "minimizing distractions" and "keeping us focused" on selling Teflaro and driving sales this Quarter.

I know, I know....so frustrating!! Meanwhile we are so distracted, it's ridiculous for them to think that we wouldn't be!!
 






I hope they wait until next week to tell us. I've done nothing for 10 days now and I don't mind taking the rest of this week off either. Isn't it amazing EH, GA and our other "leaders" think delaying informing us actually INCREASES productivity? SMH.....

Totally Agree! It will be sold to us as a game-changing, ground-breaking opportunity for all of us. The drama and the delay (all I can hear is a slow, loud, ticking clock in my brain) is causing us to be more unproductive. They probably think we are busting it out for the end of the quarter. Wrong... I don't want to hurt my baseline for next quarter (if I'm still here) and 3 more weeks of DOT probably won't effect my ranking anyway. I'd rather sit around and speculate... I'm truly, fully, annoyed...

So let me get this straight...if I have not been getting sales in my academic accounts then that means I will stay in my hospital role and not be transferred to LTC? So reps that have been producing in major accounts will move over to LTC? Seems odd...
 












The entire situation is one of the greatest debacles i've seen in all the years that i have worked here. There are just no words to describe it.

Seriously! I've worked for pharma companies before where THIS is what we had to go through to find out if we were getting laid off. They're retarded.

I'm convinced (not that I wasn't before.... but now it's confirmed) that we are just numbers on a page. Not people.... They also keep extending quarters and messing with our livelihood.

I don't know about you guys, but I need my bonus. I feel like I'm in one of those money boxes... where they blow the money around and you try to catch it. That, or it's Charlie Brown and Lucy with the football.

This is the question that we'd all love to know, but no one seems to know definitively what criteria they will use to realign the territories. Hopefully we will know by Monday!
 






The RD isn't even picked yet. Something very weird is going on. As one of the replies said, this is what happens when they are trying to figure out whether to lay off this sales force. It is a real possibility that Forest is done with Teflaro. That's why it's taking so long to figure out what they are doing with LTC, etc.

They know everything! Who is staying, who is moving to LTC etc. They are just choosing to drag it out and not tell us. We won't know Monday either. Remember they told us "the week of the 25th."
