Anesthesia and Emergency Positons

Atleast two Airway Reps are gone.....Vinny left New Mexico and the Fresno, CA territory was posted as an openning on the net? Anyone know what happened to Neil?

4 open territories. Let's hope management mans up and is honest to the applicants. Hopefully applicants will not just take their word for it and actually contact one of us over LinkedIn or read some reality on here. Wish I had know about CP way back when I was applying.

Rumors are flying that Neil was canned for complaining about his idiot core rep. I wish him luck. He left his job at a competitor to join Storz. Guess he made a bad decision.

Awwwww tooo bad, let more of the Airway Babies resign. Us Head & Neck Reps would love to add airway products into our bags & make more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

All of the products that Head and Neck have in their bag and you have time to work Anesthesia crap? You must have too much time on your hands or aren't doing your job right. H&N numbers are in the toilet, so YOU need to be working harder selling your OWN products and need to focus on just making your number, genius.

Okay, I am a Head & Neck rep and I have ZERO interest in picking up the Anesthesia line of products. I've got much bigger fish I'm frying. Would like to know which rep this is! Because none of us are "killing" it out there. Doesn't sound like a rep... Sounds like corporate speak. Airway, hope things pan out for you. Hope things pan out for all of us, as we're all in this same ship. Gulp.

The Fresno Core rep started out as head and neck, he pushed out his core rep (lucky for him he got a trainer job) Neil was not so lucky. He does not show for sales meeting, pushes people around and still employed while other get canned. I bet he tries to get his manager fired next.

Even though, its the weekend, I can't sleep. Just having too many nightmares of what is to come with the company. Will all the BS emails, pep talks from the RMs and the idiots who comprise Airway Marketing, how long can we survive before actions are taken to either downsize or eliminate our group????? I feel the end is closer than we think..

My sleep patterns have also alltered in the past few weeks, however I can get still get about 5 hours a night. Being an Airway Sales Representative, I was just asked about these boards the other day by my RM and finally decided to take a look.

Being a Cafepharma virgin, I am going with the 80/20 rule.....80% bullshit and 20% truth. With that being said, the 20% is a real eye opener and I can see where people are coming from. We have no disposables for our foundation product, pricing is a factor and we really don't have a pipeline of new products. The company has a products coming, however it will be a piece meal sell. Add a marketing group that doesn't communicate and really doesn't promote the products except for conventions. Where is the future success of this new emerging market division. I am not worried, I AM SCARED!!!!

Just finished breakfast & read the paper. Decided to see what posts were updated here for some additional news......Not much since earlier in the week. As for the last post, try some tylenol pm or a shot of whiskey before bed. In regards to this division, sell what you have in your bag and as in any job, be ready for change because in the times we live in, change happens fast.

Neil was a nice guy. He knew the business and I can't believe KS would get rid of someone because of his Core Rep wishes. Our Company & our Airway Division just gets better & better.............................NOT!!!

Just goes to show how our managers/Director & VP go to bat for us. All I ever heard from ML was how lazy our Core reps were, and that this was the exact reason we we brought in. Btw, I started in late 2010. Now, when we call a spade a spade, we get canned? I am assuming that ML is a standup guy and that he DID go to bat, which is sad, because it goes to show how much clout he and BW actually hold... To think that they could not help out a rep in need of a mentor. Shame on Storz, yet shame on Management for not shooting us straight, even after ALL of these years. I'm sure ML is having trouble sleeping. I'm sure BW is sleeping somewhat soundly with his sleep apnea machine after a full day of sucking down cigarettes.

After speaking to many of my Airway Colleagues, it is truly apparent that about 75% of the current Core Reps do nothing for their respective airway team members. Some of them say they don't care about what's in our bag, but if you think about them bundling in some airway products with an large OR1 Deal even at below FCSPs, they will still make $$$ ..................I know my shitty Core Rep is still greedy for $$$$$.

ML speaks out of both sides of his mouth. He is like a politician. He has to keep everyone happy no matter what the costs are. Whether Airway reps leave by choice or by termination, this emerging market experiement is failing- the company, the employees and our customers.

I met Neil a few times and I must agree that it is a tremendous shame that KS canned him. It was a nice guy who came from our competition because he felt Storz was the place to be as a sales representative. Whoever made this happen, his Core Rep, Region Mgr (Nate H) and of course Mr. Slick, Mike L should remember what goes around, comes around.

Hey listen, I am sorry Neil got terminated, however there are always more sides to a story. Just let it go and move on to something else.

I think the focus should be our great marketing department. What does Melanie W and Pauline B do everyday. Since the departure of Bernd, has anyone heard one peep from them?
If the Airway division is gonna survive we need a strong, active marketing team and from a tenured sales professional, I am seeing nothing. Both of them together get a 0.0 on a scale of 1-10.

Nope. Marketing works directly for (and within 10 feet of) ML. Pauline is solid and if they are not pushing stuff out it is because of him & Germany. This starts at the top. Marketing sucks, YES. BUT, ML can/could fix this if he had the marbles. Now I KNOW that we have lost other reps because they brought issues like this up to them DIRECTLY. Then they were shown the door with a package. TOP reps. As I talk to a few of them still, they are KILLING it with other companies and I plan on following suit. I mean, these reps are making TWICE what I'm making after 2 years here and this is their FIRST year at other device companies. I've been interviewing for a month now (getting back to my interviewing skills, lol). I would like to wish this division luck, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that this ship is sinking very quickly. Even if it holds on for another year or two, your first sale is your LAST sale with hospitals.

Couldn't have said it better.....Unfortunately for all of us in Airway, your last sentence sums it up for our future.............................

You hit the nail right on the head. Good post. And you are right when you say that your first sale is your last. I've found this to ring true after selling a C-MAC. After the purchase, there is no need for anything else at that point. Steel doesn't break. Flexible scope? Maybe. Bonfils? Yeah right. Brite Blades? Normally too pricey for them because they get stolen. Pocket Monitor? Well, maybe I guess, so then you sell them one, THEN what? I don't have any new hospitals going up, so where to now? :\

Karl Storz Airway Division is known as a 1 Hit Wonder! Don't you wish we had a real marketing department that could advertise a little and maybe create some interests around our Bright Blades, Bonfils & Flexible Scopes???????

Stop posting on this board at 9:30am and get to work. Sales aren't going to drop from the sky. Hit the road buddy and don't tell me you're on the west coast posing on CP!

Just "heard" word earlier this evening that end of year 2012 is not looking anywhere in the realm of possibilities for Airway and that we're approaching the end of some 3-year proving ground. Any ideas what this 3-year thing is?

Just lost another Airway Rep. Now we have 5 open territories. Have funny feeling that more territories will be vacant before the end of the year. Does anyone know the rep from NJ? Any details - Fired or Resigned???? Our readers want to know!
