Anesthesia and Emergency Positons

Good Morning All.....Welcome to another crappy week at Karl Storz Airway!

So how are we all looking for end of year? I've recently made my 6th round of visits to all of my accounts that do not have a CMAC... they STILL have Glidescopes that they love and they STILL tell me to come back in a couple of years. They use my flexibles and Brite Blades are way overpriced for their budget. Looks like my 2013 is already dependent on repair business... oh, and my quota will be going up 250k. Nice. I don't even care about Marketing anymore, I need something that is ground-breaking and INNOVATIVE to sell. I'm tired of this horse crap and walking in with the same old garbage day after day.

Is management really seeing these posts????

Quit your bitching and be glad you have any repair business. Willing to bet you did not sell the scopes to begin with. Sounds like you can't sell a c-Mac to save your life probably because you suck at sales. But wait why should YOU have to sell a Cmac that is marketings job right. Hate to see this company give a good opportunity to a whiny bum.

Wow....finally a response from marketing. It's a shame that you need to turn on the people who work for a living while you guys...ML,MW,PD,SD & LP sit on your butts and do nothing to help the team. We never asked you to sell anything, just do the items you are responsible for - Advertising, Pricing, etc.....Instead of blaming us, take a look in the mirror and realize this division is in the dumps because of you!

I don't care how many comments are on this board, I disagree. I will vow to not check back here again because this is depressing. It isn't as bad as you are making it out to be. If you think everyone hates their job as much as they say on this forum, I suggest you branch out and make some new friends at Storz.

(No, I am not a manager)

Because you are in Marketing, I will tread lightly, as you do not know any better. Building relationships means that you do not screw the customer. If they recently invested a bundle of money in a product that is (lets face it... pretty damn good and whooping us), I am not going to try and talk them into something they do not need. That is not good business. My territory DID have everything in place already. My hospitals ALL had DAVI's and scopes... why blame us for that? We were hired when we were hired. It's not our fault that the Full Lines DID sell ANESTH. Unfortunately, it did not leave us much to sell. The GS is a good product... PLEASE don't feed the horsesh!t that it's not. If it sucked, it wouldn't be the #1 device for difficult airways. Marketing has a cush job and gets to point fingers... bottom line is that you DO NOT F your customers. Sadly, we need to wait for the Glidescope units to break, that would be the legitimate way to sell the CMAC. Storz should not need to resort to stealthy underhanded tactics, at least I won't. Here's a concept, how about launching a product FIRST? Idiots.

... says a 1st year rep. Wait till year 2 ;) Guess you're not in touch with 75% of the REST of the AMARS. FYI, we chat DAILY.

Also... maybe you SHOULD be in management, lol.

Our marketing department couldn't sell water to a thirsty man in the desert...Pleeze...Just look up video laryngoscopy on Wikipedia and guess who shows, not Karl Storz, but Glidescope even though we were the innovators. Our great marketing dept can't even get this simple task accomplished.

Amen Brother.....Also when you launch a product, let it be a product that isn't a bandaid for marketing past mistakes. The sales force would rather wait for something that will have a synergistic effect on the products in our bags & not something that could be just a quick fix.

Was just doing some reading on these posts, when I realized that Stryker is advertising their new 1488 Edoscope on Cafepharma. Wouldn't it be nice if KS Marketing could do something similar. I wouldn't advertise here, but maybe on a site that our customers utilize.

Marketing needs to awaken and understand, we the salesforce need their help to succeed-
*- Advertising - Print, Internet, Direct Mail, Fax Alert
* - New Brochures that are directed to each indiviual specialty we focus on
*- Local Roundtable Meetings in Major Markets to really hear what the customers need from & think about our company.
*- KOL Board - Have quarterly meeting in El Segundo with the Key opinion Leaders to help get this division out of the basement.
*- Field Visits with Marketing - Get key marketing people out of LA to visit customers and see the issues we face as Airway Reps everyday.

I know that this is only a dream, but the nightmare we are living needs to end, so I thought I would give Airway Marketing a little help from a non-marketing person.

Forget it buddy...I have tried for two years passing suggestions via my Region Manager to marketing with various ideas to help this group and never did I ever hear a peep from them. This ship is sinking fast and I can't wait for a job offer so I can say goodbye to KS and the idiots we have in our marketing group.

Wow.....Maybe Charlie & Bill should hire you for the marketing department. Atleast you know what needs to be done.

All these posts are very disturbing. If you are not happy with your job, leave and find something else. Nothing is keeping you here. The problem with the mentality of most of you is that you feel entitled to make money with as little effort as possible. I do feel sorry for you and hope that you find happiness.

That is the dumbest statement that I have seen posted to date. The issue is that people were lied to about potential compensation. There are experienced reps that are busting their butts, having success and not coming close to the anticipated compensation.

I do not blame the marketing people, the Germans do not want to hear it, people have been fired that ticked the Germans off.

Just an FYI, I was a 2nd wave AMAR. I've left Storz and work for an amazing company. I worked my a$$ off in college, entry level, etc., just to land that crappy Storz job. For your information, at this point in MY career I very well SHOULD feel entitled, which is what promotions do. None of these Airway Reps deserve ANY less. I just hope they leave like WE did... Like the 1st wave did. Get something better than what we had. Open up your eyes, newb. This position you have is BELOW entry level.
