Anesthesia and Emergency Positons

I'll admit when I'm wrong. I was one of the original posters telling you all to suck it up and get out and sell. Sadly, I've just completed a full round on ALL of my facilities. A couple warm/cold leads on some Brite blades, but everyone else (EVERYONE), said they would not look at new airway equipment for another couple of years. YEARS. They spent a lot of capital bucks and now they are good for a while. This = no sales for me until maybe 2014-2015. I tried selling "the future" a bit, they still had no interest. They told me, "hey, we find the cords just fine with what we got... It's not rocket science".

I'm with you all now. I don't want to go through the Holidays worrying about this. I'm out.

Oh I am SO ready. If I have to spend one more day talking to my r***** of an RM (NH) I'm going to shoot myself in the head. This guy and his basic selling skills and advice. And dude, brush your friggin HAIR. When you come into my accounts with me you are representing ME. Brush up you idiot. I'm not Ben sure that this moron has ever been in an actual hospital before. He looks around like a list sheep. Have any of you experienced this with him? It's like leading the blind. I want a new job, not some pansy ass entry level gig, which is what this feels like. DONE!

During this week, I started following up with the various OR Directors, Anesthesiologists, OR Techs and Material Mgrs and over 75% of them cancelled their request due to budget restraints with our high pricing or " We are just find on how we currently intubate and the Glidescope that sits in the corner of the work room will be there if we have a difficult intubation"....Sheesh, there goes the rest of my year. I need to rethink my position at Airway and do some homework on my future options.

Going to get a beer and start my holiday weekend a bit early!

Nothing wrong with a wee bit of drinking before any weekend. I seem to have one or two almost every Friday after realizing this division is so crappy and is going nowhere. I think our marketing department must be at the bar 95% of the time, because after almost a year, at KS, I still dont know what they do or even heard a peep from them.

Hey ML, why don't you fire MW,PB, SD & LP and use that $$$ on a major print campaign in some of the major journals. We might get some traction on that. You can hire two people off the unemployment lines at minimun wage to cover the work that our current marketing team does. They probably would be more productive.

Just lost another Airway Rep. Now we have 5 open territories. Have funny feeling that more territories will be vacant before the end of the year. Does anyone know the rep from NJ? Any details - Fired or Resigned???? Our readers want to know!

The NJ Airway Rep last day was today. I wish him all the luck because he deserves it. He left to provide better for his family

Truly sorry to read this, Karl Storz used to be a great place to work, most reps saw this coming, CW only promotes people that are inferior to him and that bar isn't very high, BW was a failure as a RM, ML was a failure, JL was a failure, and CS was a avg rep but a huge dumb ass. All of this has cost the Storz family millions and a lot of good people have left or are leaving. Good luck.

I would LOVE it if ML would jump on here and make a statement regarding all of this. It would be amazing to hear what the excuses would be!

ML would never take any blame for himself or his top notch marketing team. He would blame us Airway Reps for not getting the job done. He would say we have the products, the tools and the ability to rise above our competitors and meet our customer's needs.

ML, the entire Marketing Team and the RMs drink that KS Koolaid everyday and we, the salesforce have to deal with the consequences - High Pricing, No New Products, No Marketing and of course the shiity attitudes of the above mention people. Remember ML, Attitude is a reflection of leadership!!

People complain too much here. I like this job. I am working hard to lay the ground work for future years. So I won't make 100k this year. Where else can I put in 4 hour days, get free gas and have the rest of the time for myself. Had a great summer working my tan with the ladies 2-3x a week. If you know how to work the system - FST Repairs, E-Scope Exchanges, Inside Sales Support and bundling deals with your Core Rep, commissions will come with very little labor. If I need more money, I can always get a part time gig.

Wake up, because a job with KS doesn't come around too often. Enjoy & have fun!

I think a RM wrote this because they hardley work. My RM only works with various region members every few months. I have worked with him maybe twice in the past ten months. He comes out and just loves to talk like he is an expert on everything KS. at the end of the day, he tells me I am doing a great job and nothng else. No coaching, no development..........NO NOTHING. He is such a joke!

I should have had some Marketing questions lined up for him, because he obviously has no input for sales except for the end of the ride along when he says, "keep your foot on the gas and pound that pavement!" ???? That's IT????

CW,BW,ML,The entire Airway marketing Department and lets not forget our RMs are people who should be helping driving our Airway Business in the Marketplace. Unfortunately, they are just passengers who sit in the rear seat and have no clue what is really going on.....

I think they should put the RM's and ML out in the field to cover those open AMAR positions and we could see just how good THEY are at "selling what's in THEIR bags"!
 












Why do you young reps think these people (BW,ML) are directors/managers ? They never once hit their number, ever ! They agreed to take a marketing position in CA, once in CA you are protected. Simple.

The bottom line is that BW, ML, The Airway Marketing Team and the Regional Managers need to wake up and start moving to get this division moving forward. If they don't, the division is finished and no one is made of 100% pure Teflon.
 






Very quiet on rhe Karl Storz board this week. I guess everyone is just totally sick of the company and just doing there thing until something better comes along.

I myself am just waiting for an offer from 1 of 3 companies I am interviewing with.
