I went through this interview process. I was really excited at the thought of working on this contract. I had two interviews in one day with JnJ managers and the questions were very intense. Alot of strange situational questions and scutiny over everything! One manager asked me 10 questions about a job I had 8 years ago. Make sure you have a brag book with proven sales results..they are big on that. I did not get the job and was at first disappointed, but thinking about the way they treated their interviewers makes me NOT want to work for these people at all. They were obnoxious and condesending- for the money and the lack of car/gas card I think this job is going to be a huge nightmare...

I am sorry to hear that. I interviewed monday and am still waiting to hear. I agree very intense questions going back many years. i al most felt like it was done on purpose to see how you handled yourself under pressure. Did the quintiles managers call you or did you call them?

The more I think about my 3 interviews yesterday the more I hope I don't get this.

I found it weird that all the interviews were a series of odd hypothetical questions.
Never was there any mention of the actual territory or the relationships I might have had in the territory. No mention of my experience selling in the markets involved.

If this is the way they are hiring they may wind up with a group of people good at answering off the well questions but that can't actually sell anything.

Why didn't you bring up your relationships and territory knowledge? You were there to sell yourself.

I actually did. They never asked anything surrounding that. If it wasn't on the pre-printed question list they didn't ask.

When I did bring anything up in regards to knowing the actual territory and MD's within' they weren't interested. I believe dismissive would be a good description.

The manager at Quintiles in the initial interview found all that to be relevant, the Janssen people, not so much.

This is the deal: Wen't through the process on Tuesday : Be excited, show passion, have a few great stories and be confident. They are not looking for rocket scientists but people who will hit the ground running and make it happen. There could be a short window for xarelto. They just want motivated people. Don't over think this thing!

Totally agree with the above statement. The DM's who ivd where only worried about the random question on the paper in front of them. I took a brag book and one DM said I appreciate this and know you put a lot of work into this but I just want to talk to YOU!! Same situation. I had great relationships in the territory but that did not seem to matter.

Still no word in my territory and no decisions either. i also brought a brag book and made copies for each manager. when i realized they were not going to go through it..i made a point of hilighting certain aspects of my career that were referenced in the brag book.
my quintiles interview was much more engaging ....This is my first time interviewing for a contract company so i my reference point was much different than just answer these questions and move on to the next manager.
if anyone has recieved an offer please post.
thanks and good luck.

I interviewed on Monday for the final IV. Was told we would know in a few days. Has anyone heard? I think I was the oldest one there. Anyone older than 51 interviewing? I think there might be alot of pressure but one good thing is the territories seem small.

They had no intentions of hiring you. You simply filled a slot of a male in their 50's to interview. Gotta keep the EEOC numbers looking good.

I interviewed for PA- they were held on Monday in Philly...not sure if they will be doing another round. I did not get the job so they may still be looking for the right candidate.
