One will be hired and promoted even lacking the function-domain-specific competency or work ethic as long as having the gift of gab because it is the only one single skill that is required and regarded as the most valuable skill for leads here.
The people I work with are thoughtful, kind, hard working and I generally enjoy working with them. I also firmly believe in what my company does and what we are working towards.
Bureaucracy makes progress impossible, clueless middle management & leadership unwillingness to improve. Don’t look behind the curtain but internal surveys reveal the truth. We need a good purge.
