Worst Amgen DM ever?

Is she finally gone? She is one of the worst people I have ever met in this industry…Literally a terrible person

This woman was one of the most talented managers this organization has seen, ever. She was always over prepared, on time, well spoken, and always put in a full day. Attention to detail was always a priority. Why not wish her well and move on?

^ jk jk jk

OK I was like seriously could somebody be that naïve? It’s a joke. Keep in mind it’s not just Amgen. This was her life raft job as she was being pushed out by HR at BMS 2 years ago. She left a legacy of literally dozens of angry, belittled, scorned reps (and fellow DMs) in 2 divisions at BMS over 15+ years. One of the most stubborn, argumentative Karens I’ve ever come across. I just hope she’s not anyone’s supervisor anymore

Most female Pharma managers are tyrants to work for. I'd much prefer to work for a man. Thank goodness I have a male manager. He's nowhere near as toxic as most female managers. HR protects the managers at all costs. Do you rarely see a mgr. "fired" or being let go due to "noncompliance". They pin it on the reps and find ways to manage reps out. HR is not our friend. They work with managers on getting people placed, money at hiring, etc. so they have a relationship with them. They are therefore on the managers side due to that relationship.

Amgen culture overall is toxic when it comes to HR and management. It's disgusting.

That’s field drama, it doesn’t affect my role. However, the resume senders may want to tread lightly. The BMS Cafepharma board has an overarching theme that the company sucks. You are conflating a few occurrences into an Amgen systemic issue involving both ass kissers and, somehow, minorities. It must be a pharmaceutical and medical device issue because, according to the rest of the Cafepharma boards, being an ass kissing follower and/or a minority seems to be the people getting the majority of the promotions. Of course these arguments are objective and not due to the disputatious nature of individuals that like to make excuses. Amgen’s turnover is no worse than any other large organization in this industry.

You are 100% incorrect. The culture here is so toxic, and the turnover is worse. Amgen is arrogant, doesn't contract well, has the worst launches in the industry, below average healthcare, managers who have their "in" with HR so no rep can ever win in spite of the egregious behaviors, etc. BMS may be no better, but I know other reps that are not as miserable as they are at Amgen. Amgen is the last thing from being classified as "Biotech". Most divisions suck here except for INBU where they rarely have to work due to no rheum access in most parts of the country.

100% agree. Amgen culture is so toxic. They micromanage and have way too many conference calls and Atlas and Kronos are a joke.

Managers are toxic here, and HR supports them no matter what. My friend was pushed out by a manager, and she was a great rep. The manager had it out for her and HR, of course, supported the managers.

HR is not on the reps' side at all.

agree 100%

HR is never on the reps' side. They always keep the manager even if they should not. It's disgusting.

I heard that she led all of Pharma in 2021 & 2022 in HR complaints. She was MVP of Pharma HR complaints.
