nailed it. Look at what happened last year when Amgen could see the results of phase 3 weren’t going to be good for that cardiovascular drug, instead of giving people the severance they deserved with a good layoff because of their drug that didn’t do anything to help patients, they find ways to get rid of loyal reps who had been performing well barely giving them a month severance and hire mediocre reps to take their place for much less money. They have started to take what was a great biopharma company that prides itself as being a step above and set apart from the norm of pharma and it has become what it prided itself on not being. It has been sad to watch it implode from the inside. More and more reps I talk to are not happy but aren’t sure what to do. I feel like we all stay because of benefits, but I had a friend do that and they stayed for the 401k and benefits even though their manager was an ass trying to chase them away was always rude on conference calls and saying things they shouldn’t to the rep, finally found a way to get rid of them even though they were a stellar rep. We stay for benefits like this person but forget they don’t give two shits about any of us and it’s a matter of time for any of us who don’t fall in perfect line with the I’ll equipped idiots they have as managers, at least down here. This industry as a whole is taking a turn for the worse, but I hoped Amgen wouldn’t fall to the prey of being typical pharma, but here we are.
