You obviously do not work in Corporate America, my friend. HR's function to create salary band ranges per each position, so you might have some wiggle room of a few measly thousand bucks to ..ehem.. "negotiate"; it isn't the '70s anymore and there are now more people than there are jobs so there really isn't any way to say you are worth what you negotiate with any real honesty.

He will definitely never work for a German organization. He hates those "Nazis". His words, not mine. My guess, he'll take a little time off to put some lotion on Charlie's back in Ocean City, and contemplate next moves. He'll get the band back together again. Don't you worry.

Very little turnover in this division. Consider yourself lucky to be interviewing. We are paid the most of any division in the company and better than 90% of the industry.
