Why are BI oncology reps paid more than the rest of the company?

Has anyone been promoted into oncology from within BI? I have heard that they only hire from outside the company? Why can I not take a lateral move from cardio into Onc if I am considered the same pay grade?
Here's an idea. Skip the Onc efforts at BI. Make the move to another company to sell an orphan drug where you'll have the opportunity to possibly make as much and may even enjoy the new company's culture better.

Abbvie Onc + BI Onc? What will this look like?

This is great news. Worst case scenario is that we have 24 months of easy street. By the time we surrender our Oncology assets to Abbvie, we will
Have at minimum 12 months of transition time. Factor in retention plans etc. our pay checks just got a lot fatter. They will immediately slash the regional manager /director level, but it takes a long time to trickle down to the rep level. Time to put the seat back, recline and coast. Kids are through college, so now I get to relax. Very picky about what lunches I do now. Don't want to be bothered with the paperwork.

now that's the attitude. you're a real credit to this organization.

What a joke. This place blows. But great for an easy paycheck. Can't stand listening to those posers up on stage.

The funny thing is no one is forcing you to stay here. Believe it or not your position will be filled within two weeks after you leave. I like the people in this organization. Good luck to you and Hit the Bricks!
