Where to go.....

Contact sales? Or maybe you think I went to a contRact Sales position? I did not, however, the Eyepoint position is very appealing. I followed it closely, but got an offer from a surgical company a few weeks ago. Glad to have used my experiences at Shire and previous companies to catapult my career to follow my personal goals. I was responding to the poster who said surgical companies would not hire dry eye reps. Yes, they will. I’m not a dry eye rep. I am a problem solver, I am a positive attitude, I am a results oriented rep, I am a relationship former. I called on Surgeons. I called on their referral bases. I overcome tough situations. I am tenacious.
You are a blowhard loser, mate!

It’s all in how you present your resume and yourself. Then how you present your time at Shire. Most companies do not respect dry eye sales, but they do respect launching new products which includes selling with limited managed care coverage, they respect relationships and they respect rankings. Use what you have. Use your experience to your advantage.
Good luck all. I am headed to a surgical company!

This could be the stupidist post ever. Relationships mean nothing if you cannot drive businesss. Launching products successfully is a plus because it demonstrates the ability to move products in challenging environments. Pulling through prescriptions is harder than a buy and build product, I’ve done both.

i know several people who left Shire for surgical positions. One went to Bausch with interocular lenses, a couple to Glaucos with surgical stents, one to Alcon selling specialty interocular lenses, one to Zoll. What’s the issue some of you have with Shire reps going to surgical companies
You sound like a bunch of cry babies that couldn’t get hired so you assume no one can.
I have not heard of anyone going to Eyepoint, but if they did, good for them. I would have more confidence in any place but here.

Well that’s something to brag about! Who hoo! You went from buy & bill to dry Eye. Aren’t you the smart one! Bet your dick is 2” hard too. Wow! My hero!

I don't know why everyone makes such s big deal about buy and bill? It's not hard and is not special. I've done both as well and Imo pulling through a new drug especially at the pharmacy is way harder

Good post. No reason you can’t move from Shire to anywhere. If you pigeon hole yourself as a dry eye rep then go to Kala or to Allergan or stay here selling Xiidra. Resumes have evolved. Highlight your strengths don’t send out a list of companies you worked for. Employers are searching key words and people who can get the job done.
Ignore the bozos that are negative. They have no clue how to sell themselves. Probably can’t sell a product either. Congratulations. Most of us are excited and happy for those who have made it out.

Watch Eyenovia to make a move soon. Glaucoma. Dry Eye. New drop technology. Look them up and look for the interview process... good luck all!

Preventing progressive myopia. This is the type of stuff Shire promised us- but never delivered. Stopping the progression of myopia- outstanding. Higher myops have other vision problems besides glasses- retinal detachments etc.
