WHEN WILL NUBU LAYOFFS OCCUR?

so....maybe we can all learn a few things that will help us in the future when this inevitably comes up again in your career.

The thing to recognize is that there is literally nothing you can do about it. Your #s don't matter, your "behaviors" don't matter, everything is out of your control...and out of your mgrs control.

So understanding that....in the future when a company announces layoffs - you pump the brakes. You start participating daily on the level that makes you happy. No more, no less. I know people who were out there having lunches and going at it like business as usual even last week...if that makes sense to you, then do that. If NOT doing that makes you feel good, then do that.

Because there is absolutely no amount of hustle or effort or desire or want-to or ANYTHING....ANY THING....that is going to protect you from a layoff in pharmaceuticals.

When this happens to you again, immediately when it is announced...realize that they are not talking to the other reps, they are talking to YOU....and then you do what makes you happy in the unhealthy relationship that you are in with your employer. Because that is what it is. The pharmaceutical company wants your complete and total loyalty...and they will let you know at a future date if they'd like your relationship to continue or not. In any other area of your life, you'd say that is an unhealthy relationship....and it is the same here at work. When they tell you that they are thinking about breaking up, well - maybe don't be 100% dedicated to them anymore

Wait did they seriously let go of the entire division today?!?! I work here in a different division and only heard there was a company wide manager call last night but nothing more. That is horrendous if this is true!

They did not get rid of everyone - just almost everyone

went from roughly 180 to about 40 reps across America

No they didn't, 4 managers and 50 reps retained. Not good news but division not dissolved as posters suggest.

Sorry to all that lost they’d jobs. This is exactly why I try to jump ship as soon as upcoming layoffs are announced. You just never know how bad it will be or if it’s going to be you.
