What the Hell Happened?!?

i agree with you. I worked in headquarters and was treated like I was just a servant forbidden from speaking. I was hired for one job but was doing four when I quit, for no extra money either.

That is exactly like they treat the field. And, don't even get me started on how some reps were covering for two territories for zero extra dollars but were told that "they would look good in the eyes of the company."

Do you know what happened to them? They were laid off!

So...I hope that the mentors don't expect dick when they are also told that they will also "look good in the eyes of the company" for training the college grads!

I was a HQ employee, left of on my accord in large part due to male dominated culture and unfair practices toward females (who aren't family or part of the in crowd).
when the field is full of nothing but associates (due to purges and bullying employees to quit), the average of the reps will be mid 20's. If that does not show blatant age discrimination, nothing else does.

I'm very surprised that the people that were laid off and over 40 years old are not suing for age discrimination.

Would love to get in touch with you. There may be a Cafepharma chat or perhaps an email address could be established to get in touch with one another.

Even though there is a loophole worth exploring--you made things difficult for yourself in terms of fighting Vanda by signing the severance.
the agreement has more holes in it than swiss cheese and was not executed properly with regards to patients over 40. a good lawyer could have it easily voided. old hetlioz bonuses are still owed to several purged employees. not paying earned bonuses is a violation of the agreement on vanda's side that could get it tossed as well. advice to next round of purged employees, have an employment attorney go through it before you sign, not after.

I 100% agree with you and there is a chance that the age discrimination angle may work if there is a class action lawsuit (but many of those laid off don't want to go that route for fear of having the severance taken away).
