This is happening to me right now. My FCGs are pretty different from the direction I get when my RSM is with me and what happens during my calls is taken out of context. Not sure what to do.

Bummer dude/dudette.....Here is the deal. You are probably in the bottom 2 or 3 in your region on the last annual appraisals for sales and skill sets. Therefore, your manager has been challenged to demonstrate "Managerial Courage" and has indirectly been encouraged to move the low performers out of the organization. Your manager knows pharma sales has become a crap shot and will not tell you what is truly going on to your face nor what is up! Remember that those FCRs are written for SD and HR, really not for your coaching, except coaching you out!!

Can't fight the power! Hang on, be miserable, lose your faith in yourself, plead to your customers, make extra calls, Unnntillll, you get put on a subjective plan that you will not be able to meet or beat. Life lesson so suck it up and deal with it. There will be others so don't feel sorry for yourself.
 
























Problem for all of us is that this "tone" is set from the top and called "leadership" at Asstellas. Given the incredible dysfunction we experience with goal setting, marketing support and HS it's just a matter of time before even the best RSM's turns up the heat. There is a quota set to gave bottom 3 in each Region on a plan or moving towards one. Better have your resume ready!
 


















You won't be whacked if you've been here less than a year. You're barely off probation. After that the only safe way to remain is to be a minority or to go on maternity leave.

Leadership by fear and intimidation is the norm here now and sadly. Comes from at least SS or higher. Most RSMs are just in cya mode. If whacking you saves their butt then prepare to sleep with the fishes.
 






Well stated. I've seen this scenario play out across the country for the past couple of years. Beware of managers wanting to meet you in a hotel to discuss business. It's an ambush,and you are gone in 60 days after they give you an unwarranted Level ii. Do yourself a favor, and leave.
 


















We should all hire an attorney! Seriously. These assholes act like everything is the fault of the rep. Never mind some territories were never aligned correctly and therefore many people struggle at no fault of their own.

I hope someone with a brain @ Astellas reads this....you have serious HR issues and legitimate litigation possibilities....keep it up! There are new laws against "bullying in the workplace"

Hey, you are so tough! Listen, each and everyone of you that work at Astellas have signed the "at will" clause. You can be fired because they don't like the color of your shoes. Simple as that. Unless you have proof, documented proof, that you have been discriminated against, harassed, bullied, then you have no friggin chance for any lawsuit. Any employment atty. will tell you that. HR is wise in not letting any paper trails exist. If it has been decided by ASD and above that your asss is gone, then see ya on the next cartoon!

What do you think all the mgr meetings discuss, it sure isn't products. It is 'managing for top performance'. In other words, how to keep the turnover fresh and intimidate through actions towards others. You will not find another pharma job worth a crap, so get over your self indulgence and sense of importance. The people in charge laugh at comments like yours and play you like a toy! You are in a sad and depressing industry. Kind of like an old Mad Max movie. I have been to the top of the mountain and seen the burning bush. Everything is worse than you know.
