What is Acumed thinking?

It's becoming obvious Marmon is the problem. They have no idea about this business and continue to f the field every decision they make. "Leadership" is powerless and must comply even when they know it's not right. Just ask Tyson from CMF, they showed him the door because he wasn't a compliant Hjalmar soldier. But sell more with less support and no new products, leadership has quarterly bonuses to collect
Almost all of the leadership has no clue what is right. You are trying to give these idiots a pass.

Jorge Orbay is laughing at acumed. The market share gains come directly from acumed and everyone knows it. Soon, SD will pass Acumed in sales with far less products because Hjalmar and Jimmy Blanchard are dunces. No new major products in 10 years.

And now we're down to 2 engineers in Addison covering new product development for maxillofacial, neuro, chest wall, foot, and ankle lines while also having to support Regulatory resubmissions for all legacy OsteoMed product.

Never fear. The space that used to be taken up by engineers and product managers trying to create products is being used for all the contract accountants. Management did commit to hiring another engineer, though... sometime... probably in 2025. But we're "accelerating product development." I know we're accelerating because management said it repeatedly.
It's all part of the plan! If you eliminate experience and product knowledge you can reshape the product line the way you want it - low cost, commodity products that scrape the bottom of the innovation barrel. But keep telling people, repeatedly, that you are driving new development. Addison will only be manufacturing within a year (maybe less if people keep leaving) and the HQ will be in the medical device mecca of Hillsboro where you can give more in taxes until it feels good. So sad - the opportunities were there if only someone at the top understood. Some people are hired to be visionary and some are hired to get a bonus when a deal is completed.

It's all part of the plan!
This gives them too much credit. This management team is just now realizing how large the foot and ankle market is, but they have no clue how to compete.

It's also sad they're so focused on the singular 2030 revenue goal that they won't invest in anything that might take longer to realize growth even if it's good for the company overall. But after killing off development of new products by attrition and eliminating old sales channels, it's hard to rebuild anything in foot, ankle, or CMF.

Management is terrible and focused on financialization rather than creating durable value. It’s distorting the entire business cycle and you can really see it in senior management. They are just focused on all the wrong things.

That’s why we’re getting employee disengagement, high churn, low product quality and the rest of it. Short term thinking and profit maximization have deleterious effects — who knew?

The sales folks have a front row seat so you get to watch the shit show unfold.

There is also the fact that good leadership is rare as rocking horse shit in the first place so…I mean look at the sociopathic VPs and the sycophantic directors they hire lol
Sociopathy is an informal term for antisocial personality disorder (ASPD), a mental health condition that causes people to have a long-term pattern of manipulating, exploiting, or violating others' rights. People with ASPD may also have a limited ability to empathize with others, and may not feel remorse for their actions.

Definitions of sycophantic. adjective. attempting to win favor by flattery. synonyms: bootlicking, fawning, toadyish servile. submissive or fawning in attitude or behavior.
