Hey, we all know (those that actually work) that he’s a good guy who coaches hard yet fair, and strives for excellence both personally and with his team. Some people aren’t cut out for this job, and that’s what makes a managerial role difficult at times. It takes a dedicated individual such as Wes to support but not coddle each individual, and direct each one to their own promised land, that may or may not be with the company or industry. I’m proud to be aligned with this mindset, but I’m one of the haves vs have-nots.

Looks like you guys need a referee! I fall somewhere between the two camps, the Wes haters and the Wes supporters. First of all I’m going to estimate from looking at the wording of the posts there are about 4 anti Wes people posting and about 2 pro Wes people posting (Wes plus one rep).A for the substance of the allegations and compliments, in contrast to the F given by the anti Wes people and the A by his supporters, I’d rate him a grade of C.

Wes is experienced and serious about his job, driven to be successful, and pushes his people to do well. On the other hand, he is often rude and insensitive and that can hurt sales, morale, and undercuts any success his other qualities can bring. I like Wes overall and would say at his core he means well. But boy could he use some coaching and polishing. He should seek constructive feedback from all on his team and make a genuine effort to be a good manager. I know most on his team think he’s a lost cause, but I believe in giving people a chance. And I think Wes should be given a chance.

Hr won’t care especially given wes will lie and just say all our complaining they don’t want to work hard

There needs to be survey given to all on his team and they be encouraged to be truthful good and bad

And of course has to be Anonymous submission. If not, no one will tell truth about any criticism because they will know they will be retaliated against for doing so

Perhaps if wes knew all on his team submitted surveys with similar sentiments he will accept he must change to be a good manager, maybe he will

On cafe pharma he is defensive and dismissive, trying to pretend this is only one disgruntled employee posting and is refuses to do any self reflection and make a good faith effort at change to become a good manager

He makes racist comments and that kind of thing is literally ingrained into his core. Honestly HR won't do anything. He is a nightmare to work for and even his matrix partners feel the same way. He consistently puts meetings on calendars without asking if it works for the other people involved. You would think someone would realize the turnover rate on his team is fairly high.

I think there’s an assumption here that people on the team actually are good, and while there are some exceptions, this is really not the truth. We all know housecleaning needs to be done from time to time and I think in general, we respect people who try to keep a clean house.

AI checked huh. I agree with you. He is condescending and often out of touch with how he should be speaking to his team. If he continues to make these typical white privilege remarks he is going to be in hot water.

B. There is one rep also pitching in, also posting in Wes’ defense in addition to most of the posts being by Wes himself
