Let's be honest here: how many reps actually sell anything even during ONE day of the week? Most offices are shut down to reps, there is a national trend by big conglomerates to buy entire clinic systems and organizations. The first thing the new owners look at is, "where can we increase profitability?" Answer: Docs need to see more patients. consequence; less time for reps, to the extend that they are barred from even entering the clinic. Anyone in Minnesota, Wisconsin, WA State, just to name a few, knows what I am talking about. if you are in Wyoming, you may be lucky, but most offices don't want to see you anyways, because time spent with you is a waste of time at this point.

Can a Pfizer employee volunteer to be included for an upcoming layoff? I am near retirement and would happily receive the severance package and give up my seat to someone younger, with a family, who really needs to keep the job. Thanks.
Sorry. Every situation is unique. What happened in the past means nothing.Yes, if it come down to that big of a lay-off employees that qualify will be notified and given the opportunity. That is what happened in the past.

That’s the way it should be! And thanks for wanting to Volunteer. Unfortunately, seems like the company has to reveal the demographics of the people laid off and show that they didn’t target one demographic (ex: Caucasian male 60 yrs old). Seems like Pfizer sent those numbers out to reduce legal nightmare. Remember, attorneys run all these decisions.
