Here is an article from The Bleacher Report for all you crybaby whiners who claim that Gonzaga is not the nation's #1 college basketball team.
It compared the top 10 ranked teams as to their Points per Possession and Points per Possession Allowed when they played the RPI Top 100 teams.
Gonzaga showed BETTER efficiency than ALL except for Florida. But so far this season Florida has lost 5 games since they can't deliver in the clutch like Gonzaga can.
So all you whiners - READ UP and LEARN SOMETHING FOR ONCE!

Can't dumb it down for you. Gonzaga plays in a weak conference. Non conference games mean little because real conference games are more important and the non con games are to prepare for conference game. Come back when the zag plays in a d -1 conference.

The better the seed the better the odds that the team will get into the final 8, final 4 and the championship game. So teams fight for the best seed possible. So regular season rankings mean a whole lot. Only those with low basketball IQ's are unaware.

Gonzaga beat BYU on their home court and won today by about 30 points. If the Zags played Duke or Miami it would be a good game. But the Zag deserve to be #1. They've earned it fair and square. Read The Bleacher Report article that I linked previously. It explains everything you need to know.
Btw, sorry that U of Florida got punked by Arizona, Arkansas, Mizzou, Tennessee and Kansas State (who Gonzaga beat, btw) this year. Maybe they will perform better in the tourney.

You wanna know what basketball stupid is? Basketball stupid is coming on this board 5 times a day during the regular season bragging about the possibility of Gonzaga being ranked no 1. Basketball stupid is even thinking that they are the best team in the country when they have played the 71st toughest schedule in the country, easiest by far in the top 20. Basketball stupid is even considering them to be the best team in the country when EVERY single person that watches college basketball knows that they are not. NOBODY but you and other Zags fans think they are no 1. Sure, they will be ranked no 1 this week by default, so enjoy it while it lasts. The tournament is what matters, to deny that is just plain stupid. RPI has them ranked 8 right now, that's what the selections committee looks at before the AP or coaches poll. It's no lock that they will get a 1 seed. You are more than basketball stupid, you're just plain stupid.
You really think all these rankings mean a damn thing? If you get a 1 seed then lose in the second or third round that is what people remember. If a 4 seed gets to the final four that is what the team and other people will remember. I think even your dumb ass knows that, you're just grasping for straws.
