Too much of a risk for Alzheimers Drug

True that... the Account Liaison position I was called about from the recruiter has not yet been filled and I was told the hiring manager would be contacting me soon to schedule the phone interview. That's all I know! I too have reservations about this position w/ no idea of a approval date, and have clearly stated to the recruiter leaving the senior specialty position where I am now for Biogen when the drug may / may not be approved is risky at best. I figure speaking with the hiring manager won't hurt and if it goes no further, then this position wasn't meant to be for me.

Really anymore, nothing is guaranteed here in pharma and now especially after the coronavirus and this being an election year there's lots of uncertainty. None of us are safe and many reps are gonna be laid off by Christmas due to a domino affect of layoffs that will be eminent sadly. As reps, we have been off now since mid March and if your not looking elsewhere folks, sadly you have your head in the sand.

Good call.. Same here. Received package outline from the recruiter for the Account Liaison position. Going to talk with the manager and see where it goes. I am rarely on this site. Mostly for shits and giggles. Baffles me how many trolls there are and misinformation that is disseminated. At least if there are a few credible posters here

Received noon call today from Princeton one saying full steam ahead to May interviews... is Biogen really moving forward? I thought AlZ was on pause?

Not sure about Princeton one but this is a true fact here - - won’t even submit to FDA until Q3 sept at the earliest (probably later). So earliest we would be selling (if approved which is doubtful) would be Q3, 2021.

Understood! But, I got a legit phone call today. Just trying to clarify...I agree that is a long time wait and see game... but call was legit... I have kept them all on my phone and this is my 6th one over three months.. that’s a lot of trouble for no reason. Can someone speak to that

Sure - recruiters are paid to find candidates. They could care less if or when a drug may actually manifest. Recruiting will continue as long as they think they might get paid, even though most of them now feel this drug is dead.

I was just informed by a recruiter that all of these positions are on indefinite hold because of unexpected delays - she could not answer what would happen to those already employed for this division, but said it was “highly unlikely” and not consistent with Biogen’s history to keep them employed for a long time with no drug in sight. Good luck to those who took the job, you knew the risks.

1. Not true
1. Like a recruiter would know history and offer subjective opinions
3. recruiter would not offer this as they are employed by Biogen to recruit.
4. It’s not true
5. Sorry you got passed over

This is incorrect, as other posters have suggested. Full steam ahead for candidates that made the final phase with interviews resuming next week or week after. If you made it to the final phase, you would have received an email with total compensation package/range offered. You were only to respond if the range wasn’t acceptable. The recruiters wouldn’t have divulged that information that you suggested considering Biogen’s plans for the division. Whether or not someone chooses to take the risk is another issue and their choice. Good luck all

I left GSK respiratory for this. 112k base, excited but worried as drug is 1+ year away at the earliest
