Thunderbeat

haha do you actually believe that olympus can get thunderbeat to make an impact in the market?? the gyrus acquisition was an overpriced outdated white elephant that has been getting picked off for years. I wonder why mostly only gynae's use it?

all this thunderbeat is a success in an animal lab and it has colorful buttons is just a joke, you all need to understand the market for what it is. olympus take so long to get anything done.
wireless ultrasonic from covidien soon and then it will be game over, remember they have own ligasure and if you think their R&D dept isn't on to it, they will be, probably just around the time Olympus get some traction, it will be all too late.

Thunderbeat (are they really going to call it that?) would have been a game changer in 2006, when a lot of docs were just starting to switch from harmonic to Ligasure, before Covidien and Ethicon locked down vessel sealing on all the GPOs, and value analysis committees started running the OR materials department.

In 2012 it is an innovative product that is never going to get a foothold unless:

1. The clinical performance if flawless, and better than what is currently on the market.
2. Olympus can come in at an ASP lower than Ligasure or harmonic/Enseal.
3. It doesn't disrupt the hospitals compliance commitment for vessel sealing on their GPO that is tied to everything else they buy.

Oh, and lest I forget, here is yet another generator for your OR.

Too little, too late.

well my good friends look at your contracts they are not tied to endo mechanical and oh lets not forget different NEW technology ,which is written in your contracts HHMMM is there 1 device that has both in it NOPE, except ...yep , only one Thunder beat , or what ever you want to call it . BUT EVERYONE OF THE DOCS I HAVE SHOWN TO CANT WAIT TO USE IT >>>>>>>> SO CONTRACTS MEAN ZIP NADA NOTHING > Clinical sale my friends .
Looks like everyone is worried about it or you would not be out preselling against it . But hey we are only the little players that make double what you make and we don't need it all, but the hospitals would love for us to take it all . Lets see how many line items could this reduce
