The Quality of Field Managers at Vanda

half our team was on a performance plan. I got out before things got bad for me. If my manager is reading this, you know who you are.. karma I hear is coming back to get you... you weren’t nice to me and now I don’t feel sorry for you!

Aholes eventually get what is coming to them but it is truly amazing how this soul-sucking company robs most of those in management of their decency and humanity!

I know people need the paycheck and benefits but sometimes you just have to do the right thing when there is so much wrong being done (even if it may mean losing your job in the process).

They don't give a rat's ass if they harass the crap out of you on your time off and those that did report how their managers would bother the hell out of them on vacation days and sick days and while on disability were coincidentally "laid off."

I know one northeast prick stays in the car well after 5PM writing his mf coaching report and will call a rep's personal cell phone if he is unable to get the rep on the company phone after hours and/or on weekends.

The same dickless prick manager is harassing the shit out of someone on personal time off who needs time to physically heal so he has obviously hasn't changed a bit!

Former HQ employee here. Any disagreement with management meant you would be pushed out. The management would make your time there unbearable to the point that you would likely quit. If you did not quit quickly enough, it was made painfully obvious that you would not climb the ladder, so you would quit once that became clear. They don’t want your expertise, they want drones following orders.

That is the definition of a poorly run, unprofessional company. What Vanda fails to realize is that employees are a company's biggest resource, if you don't respect employees you are gonna go down faster than a falling rock. If they continue this treatment of employees they are gonna go to hell faster than the so-called senior leadership can imagine.

When the CEO has ZERO intergrity, a company is screwed.

I am so glad to be out of Vanda. It is the most unprofessional company that I have ever worked for. Most of the managers are terrible and have no business being managers. If you lack people skills you should not be a manager. The company blames reps for poor sales. The executives need to take a look in the mirror and realize that NO sales support, no good marketing pieces, lousy data, no managed care help, and lousy Hetlioz rx status communication are the main causes for bad morale and low sales. Maybe the reps can buy MP, GP, TG and the regionals a mirror so they can see who is at fault for the decline of the company.

I hear you loud and clear. You have highlighted the shortcomings of this company that most of us have also realized. At least you are lucky to have found an opportunity to avail and escape this dark and suffocating Place/company. As far as the quality of managers is concerned this Thread highlights that. The basic qualification to secure a manager position is your ability to be a YES person and be able to suck up and follow the orders without questioning the logic. If you question anything, you'll be gone. so can understand why the quality of managers is so poor and unprofessional. Best of luck to you in your new endeavors!!

The manager I’m referring to- he sends out emails all day/night/weekends.... You hide behind analyzing data but, other than that.... no one respects you! The team has completely fallen apart and that’s ALL on YOU! How many ANSR’s now are on the team? Have fun being in the bottom with your sales results! Yeah. I’m talking to you...

Same divorced NE prick?

Managers are supposed to support their team members, empower them engage them, and involve them in decision making process to develop them into effective Leaders - how does Vanda managers rate on that scale??

My manager- he gets a zero. Always targeting someone, always looking to coach down not up. He has completely lost the confidence of all team members and each day another resignation comes. I wish he would take some advice from all the coaching books he asks us to read.... Healer heal thyself.

Negative 10 - Vanda managers coach to sell Hetlioz for insomnia and Fanapt for bipolar. Numbers are all that matter. Empower?? HA HA HA Involve in decision making? Hell NO, That is forbidden.

It would really be nice to see someone- anyone in management do the right thing.....

Very thought provoking Thread/discussion.Relevant facts, issues and challenges have been highlighted. I wonder if anyone from the senior management even care to read these posts, feedback to see how employees feel or what is generally being said, how the company is perceived, what the general thinking among employees is? My feeling is - they just don't care. they sit in their cubicles to come up with even crazier demands, expectations.... God help us all.

OMG... . some of these ANSRs are the biggest ass kissers. They are making the idiotic managers feel important and unnecessarily authoritative. Being hungry and be able to advance careers is a good goal but not at the cost of sucking up to no good managers!!
