The Quality of Field Managers at Vanda

You are probably just one of the reps that doesn’t perform.

There are 100+ reps on the Fanapt side and 20+ reps on the Hetlioz side. Most perform well, some don’t.

The people on her complaining about how expectations are too high are also the people who were available when Vanda originally hired reps from Publicis. Not surprisingly, these were reps who, for the most part, had been let go as underperformers.

As Vanda continues to bring in higher performers and promote them, our numbers go up.

Congrats ANSRs and AAMs. You really stepped up! I am excited to see promotions starting to roll out, you deserve it!

And a lot of us NSRs and AMs kicked ass too!

"As Vanda continues to bring in high performers....". You obviously were not around for the purge. Top performers were laid off because they questioned the directives from Mihales, GP and Tom that they should violate federal law just because they were told to do so with no justification.

No top performers from the industry were brought in just kids that have not been part of the industry where the feds will subpoena your computer, cell phone ( yes your personal cell phone too) when the learn of inappropriate and illegal tactics ( like Vanda pushes every day). Some of the kids I have worked with ate great and are now also recording managers, keeping all files to give to feds, taking snapshots of slides at meetings etc.... Vanda is so close to having the feds on top of them but yet clueless fucks like this poster support the illegal practices. You may have good numbers today but the law of averages is against you and when you hit that bad quarter, you will feel the wrath of your manager, a regional douche and Tommy, GP and mihales all threatening your job.

Trust me you will eat your words..... If a rep even posted it, it reeks of Tom or Jen or Keith or Hector.... Possibly GP but he barely knows the English language

Great post! I think it is probably Tom or a manager that came after the rollover who wanted his or her own team without those that were rolled over.

The managers that came on board after the rollover have spoken negatively of the “contract reps” they inherited from Publicis.

JH may be a snake in the grass but she once worked for Publicis as a Hetlioz rep and doesn’t really bash Publicis but has said their expense reporting system sucked (and it kind of did).

JH and the other douce regionals sure played a part in who got purged and I know that for a fact. They say the managers didn’t play a part in who got purged but crap coaching reports against those they disliked sure helped the process.

I'm new ( at least since the so called purge). I went back and re-read the compliance modules we were rushed to complete. HOLY SHIT. we really can be held criminally liable for doing what we are being told to do by our superiors.
 












I noticed something very strange - when someone resigns or fired, all of a sudden the territory performance improves, the trends become impressive. the TRx volume goes up and no sooner than someone is put into the territory the numbers starts to suck. WHY? Not once or twice I see this happening frequently. Is the company misrepresenting the data? If they can do this, what is the possibility they can fudge the numbers to make someone look bad to get rid of them..

That could easily be the case because numbers are very easy to manipulate and there are some people always strangely at the top of the rankings.

The upward tick may also be because the doctor is no longer being oversampled.
 






Oh yeah, that is a well known ploy by the Vanda management. they fake numbers to make reps look good or bad. That means suck up to management if you want to stay afloat and succeed.

I know of at least one rep who was made look good with forced numbers and is a manager now. His territory has been sucking wind ever since and never reached the top. Strange??

Maybe i was just lucky at other companies, but my prior managers at other companies have followed me to each office, and never invaded my privacy by sitting in my car all fucking day. I need the freedom to fart between calls!!! When I go to the ladies room my pervert manager stands guard right outside the door. I feel bad for the people mentoring the ANSRs. That's a whole month of no farting! It's inhumane.

My manager is the same. He makes himself at home in my car and plays with the temperature, and uses my car charger. I hate it. I also cannot fart freely. But I dont think that my manager is a pervert like some of you.

It's my car. I fart freely and control the temperature. It makes my field day much shorter

We probably have the same manager because he scolded me when I once didn't have my charger on me because my phone was fully charged (and then he took his charger out of his bag).

The hemorrhoid manager also loves to keep his butt firmly planted in the passenger seat to write his bs coaching report without any regard to the fact that it's after 5PM and that people actually have lives and shit to do after 5PM. You almost want to scream at him I've been with you for the whole day already so get the fuck out of my car!" but you are too fuckin' tired to argue!

The idea of farting in the car with him is tempting nbut he's such a crybaby pussy tattletale that he would run to the regional to report it and then emails with Tom and HR copied in about the fart would probably be sent not too long after that.
 






Can someone share what is the best way to gain job opportunities with big pharma companies? Problem I am running into is the competition , there are lot of highly experienced and seasoned reps apply for jobs with these companies. Unlike Vanda these big pharma companies are not giving serious consideration to less experienced reps or they want experienced people from companies lie Pfizer, Merck, Novartis, J&J etc.. Recently I did a phone interview with a major company and recruiter had never heard of Vanda. He thought it was some foreign company promoting generic drugs. wondering what future we'll have after working at Vanda?

Try and connect with big pharma reps in the field, develop rapport, meet with their managers whenever possible - that will get you in the door. Applying without internal connections is going to be difficult to land a job with these most desired companies.

Vanda is the only pharma company on Earth where the CEO must control everything. Unfortunately Vanda is a liability on the resume currently since recruiters are buried in resumes from Vanda reps trying to run from the burning building mihales built.

Good point, there are smaller and very professionally run pharma/biotech companies that provide excellent training and pay extremely well too. Recently one recruiter told me he alone had about 11 applicants from Vanda!!
