the other thread was deleted so here is a repost.
Hey everyone,
I used to work for Abby. I won't bother with telling my name but it should be pretty obvious who I am. I was a very successful rep, (not in a pod either) who actually relocated for this "great opportunity" at Critical Therapeutics.
At first my relationship with Abby was ok. I moved to a brand new city a week after being offered the job and went through training at the same time. Between the two I was busy 24/7. Inconvenient, but not impossible, right? I admit was pretty gung-ho at this point, spending alot of time learning the disease state and the product (I had no resp. experience). Between the studying and moving and conference calls, I forgot in the first week to fax in my certification that I had completed HIPPA training and other admin documents. Next thing I know, I get an IRATE phone call from Abby, raking me over the coals. "How dare I make her look bad at home office" was the general drift of the conversation. I knew from that point forward, I might have made a mistake.
Not to go into all the boring details, but I was correct. Abby made it her mission in life to give me a hard time about everything. Her weekly reports being 5 minutes late (ONCE!)because I was in an earlier time zone and was out with customers was just some of the things I had to get used to if I wanted to keep my job.
Then she started lying to Hernan and Anne about my "issues". I had to have a meeting with my RSM and BUD and was eventually put on a PIP. I have never in all my years as a sales rep been put on a PIP. I've been rep of the year, won trips and tons of other awards, but never a PIP. Interesting that I should be a top performer at other companies but a piece of crap here.
Abby continued to apply pressure and with Anne's help, make me see the writing on the wall. Before he left, Hernan leveled with me and told me offline to look for another job because Anne was going to fire me. He stated he was looking as well because upper management lied to him as well and in good conscience, he couldn't be a part of screwing people over. See how the company treated him? That should tell all the people on here who are still delusional and think this is a good company to work for.
Needless to say, Abby drove me out. The last straw was when she came for a ride along (our first since my PIP). I read it and started having chest pains. I was so stressed out by the constant pressure that I actually got physically ill. I had to go to the ER. While I was there Abby decided she needed to leave (even though it was a 2 day field ride), so she left me at the hospital. None of my family lived within 1,000 miles and I had neglected my social life because of the job (in other words I had no friends) so I didn't even have anyone to feed my dog. I ended up being admitted to the cardiac unit and having a cardiac cath. I was in the hospital for 3 days before they would let me go home. I knew at that point that this job wasn't worth losing my health over and resolved to quit.
The final screw-over was when I gave 2 weeks notice. I offered to work out the two weeks but Abby said no, as long as I returned all the company equipment and car, I would be paid and wouldn't need to work it. I was a complete idiot because I didn't get that in writing and when it came time to process my paperwork, HR refused to honor that agreement. (By the way, thanks for that Jennifer C.). The company also shorted me by over $700 dollars on my final expense report, saying they never got my receipts. By then, I was so sick of them that I didn't care; anything to get away from this place.
The great thing is that I have a new job that really satisfying and a boss that is a pleasure to work for. I would encourage all of you to leave CT as soon as possible. Good luck.
