Does it not occur to you that your company is completely f!cked when you have only a single product out of dozens that has some semblance of growth? Plus a gaping hole of tens of billions of revenue that is soon to become generic.

But if you want to know what went wrong with this drug, the incompetent lazy managers from Novartis/galderma certainly should get part of the blame

And so does leadership who hired them

And so does the marketing department who did a lousy marketing campaign

The drug is a good one but marketplace realities may have doomed us to failure regardless of mistakes made by leadership and management

We will never know that though

As we rapidly approach the cliff and the bitter end.

I was an Otezla rep. Left to sell device, but I was recruited by BMY early on and when I turned down the offer, the hiring manager had the nerve to tell me, "we'll have half your business by the end of summer.". I knew I made the right choice. Ever since, I continue to bad mouth the drug to every derm I see (about 6 a day). I even make shit up. I've never met a more self righteous group than the JAKtoo crowd.

what is fact is that Amgen is the most hated company in dermatology. Not old Celgene. They love those guys. But Amgen as a company is despised like none other. Look, we are inept and a joke but at least dermatology as a specialty doesn't have it out for us.

The facts are that dermatology as a specialty hates Amgen with a passion. Go look at their website or attend AAD and they have zero offerings in their R/D for dermatology. Derm knows they bought Otezla just to milk its profits, but they invest zero in derm. Every single trial was initiated before they bought them. Amgen killed off all other trials. They just want it for the profit and they will leave derm again.

Still, at the end of the day when I go home, we suck. At least we aren't hated too.

Our pipeline is quite baron as well. Next up is a mediocre PSA read out. SLE Lupus will be the best use for this dog, but that’s at least three years away. BMS cancelled the rest of its deucra trials because the drug wasn’t effective enough. Dog won’t hunt!
