Sonosite

Not really, other than the spelling error, spot on.

Say what you want about her current performance, but historically she was in the top 25% for several years. I highly doubt you can truthfully say the same about yourself. Maybe if this place wasn't such a shit hole and the managers (including a certain VP) were more interested in their teams and less interested in chasing unrealistic quotas with outdated technology, we could actually inspire people to go sell at their full potential.

There is no leadership.
There is no vision.
There is inspiration.
There will be no SonoSite.

WTF do you mean outdated technology ? Does the rainman need to visit you for a tune up?

Hit your #, and STFU.

Good salespeople lead themselves to success
The only vision/ inspiration needed is the roadmap that is your quota with hard work.
You are WRONG that there WILL be no SONOSITE~ ~ ~ already gone / done ---we work for FujiFilm, and our customers are now buying from FujiFilm.

Except that the last few months sales show that customers are not buying into the SonoSite to Fuji transition.

The end of an era.

So this is my take on the current situation. Yes the XP took too long to release and as result competitors have clawed back SS POC US market share. However SS has always been an innovator and if the product roadmap that was shown in LA by Kevin in August comes to fruition they are in a great place. However the company seems to be continually shooting themselves in the foot. For a company like SS to thrive it needs to have a culture of people who have passion, dedication and commitment. This comes from having a sound base of people who are there for the long haul. There is a revolving door of people coming in and out of the company while slowly the core people who have been there from 5 – 10 years are either being pushed out or leaving. There are key positions being filled by people who have been in the company for 5 minutes and making really dumb decisions, bullying people out or letting good people go. It starts with the 3 Amigos at the top who have been at SS for less than 2 years who are all talk and no action. Europe is going down the toilet along with Asia Pacific and the US is barely treading water. There is this massive hope that Russia, India, China and Brazil will be their saviours but with the way they are currently going they are most definitely going to fuck that up! When are these 3 who are on massive salaries, and made a small fortune on shares incentives going to be held accountable?

^^^^ rant of a former employee with an axe to grind.

Right. Please continue the irrational context dropping. The fact is that almost every week, one or more capable and respected people at SonoSite elect to leave.

There are many good things that could be said about Kevin Goodwin: He's undeniably bright, great with numbers and passionate about growing the business. He can also be charismatic as all get out.

At the same time, he has a serious problem: At times, he is wildly irrational. Do you know the degree to which this manifests itself throughout the organization? Do you know how much time senior managers spend trying to wordsmith things so as not to send him off on a tirade?

Kevin frequently complains that "People don't tell me the truth." Yeah, well, no kidding. Get a clue, Kevin: If you demonstrate that you are not trustworthy, no one is going to trust you. In other words, most people don't cut their own throats.

The whole situation is tragic. SonoSite could be so much more than it is today. But the fish rots from the head down. Until Kevin is replaced, you're going to have nothing but more of the same. It's possible, but extremely unlikely, that he will one day have an epiphany and understand the degree to which he's his own worst enemy.

The Japanese side should offer him a deal to retire early. I think Diku would be an excellent replacement.

What I find humorous is the one person who tries to defend SonoSite on these boards. It's literally just one person. And it's sad. The only thing they can do is say:

You have an axe to grind
You are a non-performer
You can't hit quota

Here is the reality: Most of us on here actually cared about this company at one point and what it was. Additionally, we had managers that cared about us and how our team did. You, however, are most likely new and never really knew that culture. So, be a fan boy all you want, but realize this: We've been where you are, we did better than you, made more money than you, are better at this job than you are and just want SonoSite to resemble what it once was.

So you left and you miss the good 'old days , or you are still here and you are not an attractive candidate to move on and find a better opportunity based on your amazing skill and talent. It does seem like you need to work on your EQ. Anyone who uses past tense as the reply above should have moved on. In this case , if the poster has gone elsewhere , good for you for making room for someone else , but it is clear that you wish you were back via some sort of time machine. This is not really SonoSite, it is FujiFilm. I'm ok with that. much better than the job I came from. I make great money while focusing on other lucrative ventures.

It's sad that you view today's SS as "better than where you came from". Secondly, it's sad that you think you're making "great money" here.

If this really is representative of the long term TM's viewpoint, it just proves that most of you have stayed due to lack of ability to get a higher tier sales job. It is true that the majority of top performers to date, have been here less than two years. No fanboy here, just getting the job done, don't care if my manager cares about me ( he doesn't ) or remembers the old days.
Sounds like you need a hug, so go visit your mommy. She cared about us and how our team did. Grow up. Do your job.

What several posters don't seem to realize is that we have set up Sonosite as a commodity that no longer requires a strong talented, well compensated sales team.

I think it's one person , with several personalities :)
