Shared Sales 2011

Don't worry if you don't get to them all. Keep a list of those that you did, check them off and then return to those that need to be done. They will all need to be done sooner or later and they all will appreciate your endurance, work ethic and sticktuitiveness. It gets sticky sometimes but just unstick yourself and carry on. That is the Shared Motto!

so, you 're saying that you do get to them all eventually??

No, because you only have a set amount to time and then you're done. I was so mad last year when they laid the surge team off early and dumped all the that reps call into my call goal. There were some they had not called on all year and I was supposed to make that up in a few weeks! Just one more reason to add to why I am looking for a new job. I am SOOOOOOOO sick of PDI's BS.

Yikes....I have come to really depend on my mini paycheck as a TF Surge, what happens when we get laid off?

How does the close out go?
What do I do with all these samples that I can't give away?
Do they pay us for the time we spend closing out?
Do we get 2 weeks - or any - notice?
Or is it just - Bye Bye suckers?

get rid of all samples, if u do not u will have to send them back, big hassle

u will send all equipment back

complete final expense report

u then sign up for unemployment

good luck to all

They can and have pulled the contract with very little to no notice. You may just tranfer your remaining samples to another rep or send them back and you do box up your equipment to send back. In my experience you are not compensated for your time. It's like all other admin, part of your expectations of unpaid labor. You will get unempolyment benefits.

Can someone, will someone, PLEASE, tell my new DM, recntly laid of from Big Pharma, that this is NOT Big Pharma, you need to really turn it down a notch.

All we care about is getting those calls done, no Market share Growth, no catch and surpass the nearest competitor, no rankings,

Please!! Cut it out!!

I am curious, did they hire extra DM's specifically for the surge team?

don't know what happened nationwide, but in my district they just folded the surge reps in. My DM has a few "extra" to "manage" during the "surge".

Sucks to be a DM
Sucks to be a surge rep
Sucks to be stuck at PDI

I'm not sure why, but the NJ people are re-directing SS toward a "Big Pharma" model. I think their mindset is the that we at SS aren't invested in the outcome of products and just collect signatures. HELLO, that is what we've been told to do for years!!! And quite honestly, it's all the time we get at most offices on most days. 98% of my docs do not what me to "market" my product to them to increase my share. They want/expect to write what is best for the patient and not what is best for me or to attempt to persuade them to use my product so that I can bonus.

I think it's laughable that they are under the delusion that for $20.00 a call/no salary/no benefits/no car/no admin pay, that they are reasonable to expect full-time, full bene results. Without the realtime pay (and even that doesn't always mean success anymore), the results won't be the same.

So, I think it's getting to be scary here at SS and the DMs (enforced by upper management) are wanting to get a certain "type" out of here and replaced with non thinking robots that comply. There's a witch hunt ahead and those that don't like the NEW and "improved" SS can hit the door. That's my opinion anyway.

hmmm, I think you are on to something.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind taking my effort up a notch or 2, but the compensation HAS GOT to change.

HO - you get what you pay for, remember.

Just curious, reps here certainly "work" for far less than reps working in "real" pharma, big or small.

PDI Dm's salaries/benefits are also discounted relative to their "real" pharma counterparts.

So, what about the home office folk - are they doing the same job as others in "real "pharma and being compensated at a deep discount - or are their salaries in line with the real pharma conpanies??

I disagree. I have had many conversations with BP reps in waiting rooms, and they are done by lunchtime, so they're making FT salaries plus real bonus for the same hours we put in. PDI is smart, we're the dumb ones for sticking around.
