Seasonal Contract Position

Not a seasoned professional here by any means, but I’m guessing ashfield wouldn’t be hiring unless the FDA will approve sooner than December. It’s already been approved in Japan.

Companies need to start the recruiting/hiring process early to ensure people are in-place once the official letter comes from the FDA. Sometimes this "early" prep back-fires, as the product isn't approved or FDA needs additional info/data; etc. So the fact we aren't hearing anything, tells me that there is a hold-up within the product approval phase... I may be wrong, but that's what my gut is sayin'!

I fully believe it will gain full approval. Read up on the product.

Ashfield runs the business by the following methods:

Fire drills
Management by the seat of your pants
Reach and frequency above all else... This is how the company is paid

August will be a blur for the company. Rep offers should be extended in early September.

All "activity" metrics &/or strategy is based on what the manufacturer wants, not what the contract company (Ashfield) wants... If it's R&F is what is needed by the manufacturer (Genentech), then that's what they'll get!

Quick question: When/if they call you for a phone screen, is there any advance notice (like an email saying you will be called at a certain day & time) or do they just hit you up?

Phone screens are with the recruiter to see if your a good fit. The recruiter will email you with several days/times. If you move forward you will do a virtual interview with the district mgr then another interview face to face with the mgr again. Offers by 9/24 I had my phone screen already and waiting to schedule my virtual.

Here is what I know as of yesterday (email convo w/ recruiter): she sent me an "apology" email (didn't need to - part of the gig of looking for a job, right!) thanking me for my patience w/ the process and then asked me to do 2 things: 1) fill-out an attached profile form; 2) apply for the closest territory to my address on their website; return the form and wait for next steps. Now, my assumption is that they are using the verbal screening convo and form to pick who moves forward w/ the virtual interviews... Anyone hear anything different?

I filled out the candidate info sheet a couple weeks ago too. Recruiter emailed me a week ago to confirm that I live closest to the territory I applied for and that’s the last I’ve heard so far.

Their confirmation to your location was in the middle of their terr restructure, so you should be hearing something soon - but heck, who knows w/ these types of things... Thanks for chiming in!

What we do know is that nearly all of these positions were just posted a couple days ago so they are in very early stage of the process. Just be patient.

They’re reposts with specific mention of Genentech. The ones posted in mid-July had no mention of what the contract was for and emphasized the 7 month contract aspect of the job posting (at least in my area). Looking at my local listing on their website though, it now has no mention of a contract at all and lists the job as “full-time), so who knows...

The recruiter at Ashfield, Jessica, is very professional and efficient. Everything she told me would happen did, and in a timely manner. From start to finish, it was about 3-1/2-4 weeks. I have been very impressed with Ashfield so far.
