Seasonal Contract Position

The pay is $6000 per month. .21 per mile. Trading starts late sept, Launch 2 nd week of October. Position is scheduled for Oct-April. Come May 1 all benefits end. Based on call metrics.

So you are essentially after taxes going to make 32K per year, no benefits for 5 months, these are mostly outlying territories with a lot of ground to cover.

My bad, you were calculating AFTER taxes. Everyone pays taxes though. I don't really look at that. I still think it is an awesome opportunity.

Your math is a little off. If the pay is $6000 per month over 7 months that comes out to $42,000. Add a possible
30% bonus. If you were to max out on bonus that would be an additional $12,600. That would be a potential of $54,600 for 7 months of work. I think it sounds great. It may not be for everyone, but I think it is a great opportunity and I would love to do it!
I was told that the job is 30k for 6 months-October-march...... with a 5k bonus... is this not true? Also 600 per month for car allowance and insurance covered but no insurance on your 6 months offf......what are you hearing?

He said AFTER TAXES idiot. And you think you will make 100% bonus? Dream on. If they covered your medical insurance it might be ok. Territories are rural. Be interesting to see what the metrics they want are.

No medical insurance??? Wth are they thinking? working in the medical field with no medical insurance? ummm that won't work.

Medical for the the 6 months on.... Cobra for the 6 months off. This position only fits certain lifestyles and for those it is great. If you are looking for full time this is not for you.

This is close to what I’m looking for however I have a vacation planned and already paid for for the first two weeks of December I’m sure that would ruin my chances for this position

you are going to be off for 5 months and saying this job isnt for you if you cant take two weeks off in December? Most likely this isnt for you, if you need benefits no this wouldnt be for you either I am thinking if they dont offer insurance and you need those. Why would you interview? My question is has anyone been set up for the skype interviews yet except for the one person who is saying her/his "friend" is interviewing this week.

No, I’m saying I have a vacation already planned and paid for during the first 2 weeks of December so THEY would probably not hire me as they would want someone in the territory uninterrupted.

Heard from recruiter today that terrs are being adjusted, thus, behind on letting folks know if they are going forward in the interview process. Good question regarding claiming unemployment, just not sure how long one could claim UE...

Looked this up:

Claim Limitations
There is no limit on the number of unemployment insurance claims you can file in your lifetime. The state reviews each claim on its own merits. Reviews determine whether you worked for an employer who paid into the unemployment insurance system, and whether you remained employed for the required time (typically two quarters of the year, but state laws vary). You may be eligible for benefits if you meet your state's criteria.
