Salix?

Thanks for this info! 2 quick questions......when you say "new indication", what do you mean? I thought we were just selling on the IBS-D indication. 2nd....when you say you sold in GI along side these 2 drugs....what 2 drugs? I thought it was just Xifaxan. Help?

Ok, apparently Xifaxan was previously only approved as treatment for travelers’ diarrhea caused by E. Coli which apparently leads to Hepatic Encephalopathy (HE). So it's only indication was HE. It has just recently gained the indication for IBS-D. I didn't know that either until I asked in the interview why they are just now expanding into Primary Care if it is used for IBS-D "75% of the time".

The 2 drugs that would be carried are Xifaxin and Relistor.

were the different days for different territories or are we still up against candidates from different days? Does making it to the RM is pretty much an in?

My impression was that each territory was only interviewing at the one available day. I think I'm answering your question. I don't have a clue how many people interviewed for my territory. But I felt as if the RM interview was an indication that it was pretty much an in. The RM interview was purely conversational and didn't feel like it was a determining factor. Maybe just more of a formality. There were several people there that didn't actually make it to the RM interview. With all of that being said, I still haven't gotten an offer so maybe they have chosen the other person that felt as confident as I do;)

very hard to tell at this point. I interviewed monday and haven't heard anything either. Just waiting and working on another interview I have this friday with inventiv. Gotta see who makes an offer and who's offer is better.

Thanks for this info. I knew about the HE indication but I thought you meant some other indication. My recruiter didn't include any info about us carrying Relistor. Sorry I seem so uninformed, but I had no idea on Relistor. So, thank you for that.

Folks - FYI , lots of misinformation here- good intentions but they are off on several things. The new managers may not know details - but the Salix managers help provide me with clarification.

I am guessing here, I have an interview next week. This may be a situation where Quintiles has presented to Salix a number one and number two choice for each territory, based on what Quintiles has done so far in the recruiting process. Quintiles does try to rehire their the good reps, It is one of the reason to work for Quintiles.
These interviews might just be a confirmation of Quintiles choices. That is the reason it seems ex Quintiles reps seem to be interviewing with the DM's. Or I could be completely wrong.

Did you interview already or will this be your first?

I'm guessing you meant Q reps interviewing with RM as opposed to DM, right? Everybody that interviews at least meets with DM, right?

I interviewed this week and made it to the third interview. I am not a former Quintiles rep and I have no idea if the other candidate is. Hard to say if Quintiles reps get preference... seemed pretty fair. However, I am sure it may be helpful if you worked with Quintiles in the past. I agree with a former poster who states that they choose who they feel is the best fit.. that was something both managers said during my interviews. I have not heard back yet.. but I have a good feeling since I was moved to the third round.

As a former Quintiles rep who is interviewing next week, and is hoping that Quintiles does want to rehire their old reps. In the past on contracts like this, there is normally an offer day. To start on the 9th. The offer day would have to be on the 23rd, giving Quintiles two weeks to do the background checks. But Quintiles is off the 23rd, so it would be pushed back to the 22nd, Thursday. On large contracts like this there is normally only one day they make offers.

there was a mix interviewing former Quintiles, b2b w no pharma and prior pharma, I saw a little of all getting sent on to RM, was told would know within 48 hours yesterday. Can't imagine they would hold off til 22nd for this weeks interviews.
