Sales Force...

I like many have been much higher in base. Everyone has difficult choices to make if you're going to accept an offer from a new company. What's the opportunity? Is there a bright future? Is it the right culture? Is there a growth opportunity? If's you've had salary in 80's/90's and been laid-off...this is very difficult decision for you and your family if you have one. My advice = Consider all pro's and con's-- state your case - make a decision upon being offered. Buckle in and foot your foot on the gas. It's a job and the future is your's one way or the other. But for God's sake ... don't come on CP and cry like little school girls. It just cheapens our profession.

This post really irritates me!! People aren't crying about dollar amounts! They are upset because the recruiters gave a base salary amount that now the company is saying they won't honor!! It's bad to start off with such back peddling! If the company wants experienced reps then pay them what the rest of the industry pays! Otherwise, most will accept these positions until a higher paying job is found! Give me a break, being disappointed over out right lies being told for base salary "cheapens the industry". It's a job, like any job....salary is what we work for! We all know that bonus payouts will be small with this company so don't count on that!

Bravo. Spot on

Upcoming expansion

Phone screen yesterday, face to face tomorrow. Any tips? Also the recruiter did not know the drug they were launching. I'm assuming it is another NSAID. Please and thanks!

Well sorry - my intent is not to irritate you - but to call you to a higher level of maturity. Who are you to expect any recruiter to give you factual point by point breakdowns. Ask the questions. If the hiring authorities tell you different.. guess what.. that's the reality. I can understand being sad, frustrated..whatever...but big boys and girls deal with this stuff everyday and move forward. So move forward... in this job or another! Stop trying to be a damn victim. And as far as bonuses. Hope you take the job. Then I have one less competitive sales person to rate against to make higher bonuses and you've already given up before setting one foot in an office. NICE

The recruiters work for Ventiv! The company you would be employed and paid by. If you can't believe what they tell you is the base salary for the job, then what else is inflated? I did ask the questions...to the recruiter and the ERM....then later they changed their responses....hence why so many are upset!!!! For experienced reps the new base salary range is at an industry low!!!

No one is being a victim...geez...this is a blog where you are supposed to be able to air your opinions and views. Who made you so almighty??

All you have to do is read the previous threads on here and on the ventiv board. It happened time and time again....The recruiters told us a certain base salary range and then upon arriving for the F2F interviews that number was decreased significantly. Its not an ethical way to secure good candidates...I was really disappointed in Ventiv and Iroko for being so misleading and heard it said by numerous people interviewing at the hotel site.

You need to ask your manager again. This IS NOT a 2 year contract as was told by recruiter. This could very easily be up in 6 months if it does not take off as intended.

Wrong. No different than any other new company launch. Big risk big reward or fail. 6 months? No that's too soon. Minimum a year or 2 if things are really bad. The products take time. Plus a second drug launches less than 6 months from now. 3 months from January which is the first launch. You don't know what you're talking about.

Were you able to get any information as to what might happen at the end of the two year contract?
Any discussion of direct to hire at Oroko?

Uhhh - it's Iroko...not Oroko! and to those continuing to harp on the salary max, I'd say- you have a right and the freedom to be angry. Be real angry and disappointed. In fact, be livid. Then step back and see where that gets you. Then make a decision what you personally will do and move on one way or the other. Control what you can control. Just my advice. I mean what is your alternative? To take the job and be bitter and pissed off like someone has taken away your birthday- come on !

Gang,
I have a F2F interview tomorrow.
I have an MBA, extensive sales background (no pharma experience)
And I am praying to god I do well at tomorrows interview.
I don't care what the base salary is, it HAS to be better than anything else that has been offered to me in the last 3 months.

55k-65k base sounds terrific to me.

I assume this will be a behavioral based interview?

Yes, I would expect a typical STAR format. Tell me about a time when...I might guess that they would like a brief detail on the product. I have had other similar interviews where they asked about knowledge of the industry, dealing with closed offices, sample/promo mgmt., dealing with conflict with coworkers, walk me thru a typical day, etc.
Can you gather some info. and report back for those of us waiting?
Good luck!

It's been 3 weeks since my final interviews with DM's and Regional Manager. My recruiter says she hasn't heard anything and will let me know once she has. Are there any other candidates in this situation? I know several people have received offers, but to not have a clue, one way or the other, has been difficult.

I'm sorry for you - I too know what it's like to need a job. But you need to reach out and make contact with the ERM/Recruiter for your area. If it's been 3 wks...I'd say you should move on - but not before getting a solid answer from InVentiv folks if they have an interest in you. If your answer is "No" - don't get down. Get right back after the next opportunity and go after with your head held high. In fact - you should work with the Inventiv ERM on other possible opportunities in your area thru Inventiv. They are a big company with many contracts and projects in the works. If they won't help --- they are not interested in you!
