Why not just even things out and don't let anyone go? Those with really large territories very a little smaller, those with small get a little larger.

Nice try my friend. ZS will make recommendations without truly understanding the magnitude of the decisions as they always do, regardless of the disease/market place. I bet the mgrs are having a blast at the meeting this week...not.

I can't eat, I can't sleep, I'm afraid to tell my spouse about all this. I'm worried sick over this whole mess.
You're not alone, this process is not being handled well at all and we are pawns on a chess board. Chances are we are a pilot for more changes across the organization to reduce costs (which we all know this s what it's about....)

Yep - watch for changes after our well deserved bonus are paid off in March. Not just sales but any and all GNE "overheads" are under scrutiny from ROaCHEland finance.

You think they are going to wait that long? I'm thinking next well we find out who is displaced those who are kept go to nsm, those displaced stay home. Changes to take place 2/1.

What's bothersome is the mention of this being "minimal" and not disruptive. Really? I am positive it's not minimal or not disruptive to those that are going to lose their jobs! Or even all of us worried about losing our jobs. What a insensitive and rude thing to say. Think about that WB and TH (but hey why would you?) I'm sure ZS's recommendations (that don't include potential) is OK. Or the fact they have NO IDEA how much time any of us spend in accounts for hours worked, how can they? This is THE SAME COMPANY that recommended we expand and now just a few yrs later is saying the opposite! This whole situation is being handled so poorly, unprofessional even. I thought we were a company that cared about their people? But then again it's all about the all mighty $, shareholders, cutting costs. This is not the Genentech we're used to folks, this is big pharma. I feel bad for those that just came here.

Hey guys, there is life after Genentech. You will probably miss the party lifestyle, NSM, Club DNA, fancy cars, sabbaticals, stock options, etc...but I promise, you won't miss the azz kissing..I mean networking/developing wink wink), cut throat/back stabbing, share stories, insight colors phyco babble bs. In fact, its quiet refreshing to get away from it. Good luck. Think of it as you are in the mafia. Hard life to leave, but its for the better. There is life after Genentech.

The ass kissing never stops, no matter where you go neither does the cut throat, backstabbing, forced shared stories, psycho babble BS. The party lifestyle, NSM, Club DNA, fancy cars, sabbaticals, stock options, etc... makes it easier to deal with.

Yes - there is life and probably better down the line beyond GNE.

ROaCHE is finally doing what it is good at - cut cost and close plants and we got away with it for 5+ years with GNE perks as GNE was literally minting cash. Did y'all know that most rank and file ROaCHE employees don't get our juicy bonuses? Of course they complain about it and sabbaticals and extravagant June concerts to be taken away under guise of cutting cost.

My fear is that ROaCHEs will do what Biogen did in Oct 2015 - best quarter ever then announce 15% RIF. We can't discount the FACT that our 3 horsemen Avastin/Herceptin/Rituxan will be facing biosimilars in 2018.

So enjoy the weeekend as all of us have NO control over what may happen.

Cheers

Genentech is bloated. There are whole departments were there are contractors doing all the work, yet a full staff of FTEs basically doing nothing but non core activities for career enhancements. Funny too is that many FTEs have limited or poor experience in their job field, indicating they were hired because they knew someone, so they hire contractors who know the work. Contractors should enhance a department for temporary needs, not be an entirely parallel structure. There is room for big cuts.

May be, but WE here in the Lucentis force are NOT! We don't overlap for the most part. We tout this great message but with these cuts and cherry picking we're not living it, all talk.

Lampa is long ways off as when is the FPI for Ph III?

Heard PFS Lucentis is mired in all kinds of challenges on the supply chain side. Boys at Novartis made is sound easy but the news about launch delay whether be due to supply chain or FDA PAS (prior approval submission) won't be pretty.

As for the joke of all joke 4-yr behind implant project - FPI in late 2014 but it's only Ph II and market won't be so receptive once Avastin biosimilar by big boys like Amgen is approved and price contractions across the board.

We're kind a screwed sandwiched between Avastin on 1 side and Eylea on the other. PFS even available now won't help and it sounds like month away.

Yup, their trolls on here are probably already making up stories about us.

Yo troll here.

Got some GNE inside info for ya - our Retina partner Novartis outside US checked out the sorry ass long delayed implant project and said NYET. Retina franchise is under "attack" from multiple fronts and will be forced to give substantial price reduction to retain market shares.
