Genentech's policy is to not allow displaced reps from attending the upcoming NSM. You are now a liability with a high probability that you are disgruntled.
Please understand, this is a business decision, nothing personal. There is absolutely nothing for you to celebrate and/or to toast for future success at the NSM. You will not be a part of any future successes and there is no need for continued developement at this point. You had plenty of time to network while you were employed. Apparently you didn't take time to do so. Its over and you have been downsized. Take your lumps with dignity and move on. No hard feeling and we wish you the best of luck.

You're an asshole and definitely don't echo anything I have experienced or been told by colleagues or management. There is time for continued development, ALWAYS! A smart person would know and acknowledge that. You sound like a moron, a sad individual! You move on!

I completely agree. What an insensitive idiot!

GNE HR or ASSHOLE management monitoring this msg board?

Hey be careful folks in what you disclose (i.e., initials of asshole bosses) and yeah this kind of response just tells you how "valuable" you are to GNE.

My thoughts exactly! I haven't been with the team that long but I feel the same.

Please move on and chances are you will be much better off/happier on your next endeavor.

It's awkward for those who are still with GNE and especially the management aholes who voted you off the "island". Your intention is good but not acceptable to aholes.

God Bless

For those who were displaced:

Don't look back and beat your self. It was out of your control... Focus on what you can get for the family and that means don't sign the 1st severance offer. Try to get more and consult with employment attorneys on your options. Take a hard look at your past good reviews, bullying/unfair treatment and dept turnover rate - you can often use this info to negotiate/extract more.

I am in no way disgruntled. Quite the opposite in fact. I am very hopeful that there will be opportunities in the future. As for there being nothing to "toast", I completely disagree with you there. Lucentis is a great product and the individuals who work in this brand are some of the best at what they do and are great people, many who have become friends. As for posting peoples initials, I am a lot smarter than that. Again, maybe some of the wrong individuals were let go.

I couldn't agree more. The vicious and vile comments on here are shocking and uncalled for. I happen to want to stay here, I liked my job, the company, my team and my manager. I plan to do everything I can to stay with the company, If you don't like it here than leave.
I highly doubt my wanting to stay here is unacceptable to my former manager or colleagues. How many times are you going to post the same psycho babble BS!? Get lost loser!

You are an insensitive douche bag, I think you should have been voted off instead!

Preaching to choir pal - yes GNE is 1 of the best company we worked for and we want to continue to ride the gravy train BUT there are things out of our control (and more bleakness going foward) with the Retina franchise. Not cynical or unthankful but not get so caught up having drunk the Kool Aid that we look at the future with clouded lens as listen pal we're all easily dipensable when sales and profits are in decline.

Peace dude

I don't think anyone is drunk on the kool-aid, or looking through a clouded lens. This whole situation was out of control. But I'm just trying to be optimistic in order to find another job here. What's so wrong with that?

Why have a RIF when most of the RIF territories still have 6-10 accounts being covered now anyways? Many territories not affected only have 8 or so accounts to cover. Not to mention they screwed up the alignment with accounts in some areas by not including ones that should have been. What a mess! This was completely unnecessary should have just kept it the way it was.
