Resp. bio expansion

The right thing to do is give the product to the folks that have been selling in that space for years. My God, TPTB think selling a biologic takes a MENSA member. Newsflash- every person out there selling a biologic or a oncology drug started off selling good old pen to pad to retail pharmacy drugs. Give the sales force some credit. They can do this.
And think of how it would positively reflect on morale and company perception. You want people to go to battle for you, show them you believe in them. Give Farxiga back to the diabetes folks. Just tells me, diabetes team is a joke. Align respiratory as THE respiratory sales force. Senior leadership screwed around w/ RPT years ago ( more than a few higher ups admitted to me in private it was a mistake to dissolve that team) and then the RST.
Leadership overcomplicates things so often. This decision should not be complicated. Analysis Paralysis.

While I agree people should be given a chance, selling a biologic is NOT the same as other “retail” or storefront dispenses meds. It’s just not the same. This launch was important to AZ and the candidate pool reflected that. Taking the emotion out of it and analyzing it the consensus would be exactly what they did. Look on LinkedIn. Recruiters post for biotech jobs and the first requirement is biotech experience. Especially during a launch. Launching a biologic is totally different.

Only difference is the use of specialty pharmacies and distributors. I moved over from pcp to oncology a few years ago and the messaging, RTCF, selling model are very similar. Only thing you really needed to learn was distribution. Not hard.

Not hard but a different experience level. Particularly during launch.

Agreed. I've got many years of successful biotech experience and am interested in a position. Just wondering if the expansion is still a strategy for the company? If so, what is the reason for delay since the jobs were posted several months ago?

Anyone hear anything about moving candidates forward with these positions??? Seems so odd. Radio silence after the phone screen and questionnaire. Hmm. How about salary range for the position? Wonder if it's even worth the wait. Thoughts? Thanks!

Will there be 3 reps per territory calling on same accounts? Or will this third person to the territory have different call points?

Yes 3rd rep (expansion) will be calling on FPs and Internists with some cross over on key accounts such as immunology centers of excellence like large teaching institutions.

Yes going to be a poop show. 3 reps in same territory and 2 managers in same geography. 1 of the reps will have 1 manager and the other 2 will have a different manager. Sounds fun!:)

That’s not gonna work. FPs/internists can drive volume but very few are equipped for biologics/SPs. And certainly won’t Rx for severe asthmatic who can be better managed at a specialist.
