Recruiters are STARVING right now!!

Who needs a recruiter when there is LinkedIn, if you know how to use it provides all of the info. you need to find the hiring manager. Many have found their last job via LI and the money they saved the company could be negotiated into a sign on bonus, your in sales right?

Well said! Best to check credentials prior to engaging on Linked-in as well. Be skeptical of the linked-in in-mails from "consultants" that are doing candidate "screenings" via linked-in. Be for warned about those that reach out via linked-in or a quick phone call, where they'll will describe a candidate type (market experience) that you fit, only they'll claim it's "too early" in the process to identify the hiring company= a complete waste of time. They'll never strait out tell you they are actually looking for free information on the market itself. They have zero to offer any candidate in return.

Favorite recruiter routine is the phone screen (maybe the 2nd phone call you get) where there is really no position anymore but someone or somehow the recruiter plays along with the sham interview..happened to me, heard about a mass layoff, week later the dog and pony interview, at the end I asked about 'recent layoffs' and if job was really available...little pause then came the 'no, but we want to keep our eyes open for talent'..thanks,

Why did you waste your time? Qualified candidates interview their potential employers- ask solid questions first. Spend your time wisely.

received a call. No specifics. Seemed questionable at best. NO THANK YOU!!!!!

same thing happened to me- I think it was Biohealthsourcign.com too. First contact was from a consultant via linked-in. Person told me who she was working with this same Biohealth group and she would not id any hiring company. No specifics on job, and a lot of questions about me and my biopharma/pharma background. Chose to spend my time wisely. No Thank you.

pop quiz,

how common is it for recruiters to offe "kick-backs" to client comapnies? Just taking a random poll

ummmm, let's think about this, a poll? on CP? Talk about random...any results would be about as reliable as....Nothing! might as well count these votes : Always. Never. Half the time. 20% of the time....

If post 78 is true, why didn't you sue this bastard? Obvious easy lawsuit there. I wouldn't tolerate that for a second. You didn't have the money to sue, get a lawyer on a contingency basis or at the very least, get a watch dog group, sometimes a local t.v. station can call them up and jack them up. It works, its free. Don't ever take this kind of treatment from anyone. Once you let a jackel get its fangs in you, it will chew up every recruit it wants.
Yes, there are horrible recruiters and you can stand up to them. Tell the a holes off, immediately. You let them jerk you around and you will hate yourself. You can yell, talk over and email them the same shit they vomited up on you. One a female whose name I would gladly give, but I've intentionally forgotten, was all over me to get my resume up to her liking in 1 day or else, the job was there for the taking. She lied and then, turned around and insulted me, so I gave it back to her. She had no ethics, no morals and likely goes to bed at night with dollar bills clinched in her fist, along with the foul smell of the dirt from those dollars all over her. I do hope she rots in it.

Tax returns?

only guessing she may want to look at tax returns as proof of former employment, in an effort to avoid any phony resume claims...no way she can demand earnings...sharpie that info out in a heartbeat...always up tot the professional to negotiate a future salary...some personal information should still be maintained as private

No reason for her to ask for proof of salary b/c all the postings she gets are for forest with low salaries…

Be aware of the phony "consultants" that claim to be screening candidates. Any one of them that attempts to claim anything to the effect of " too early in the screening process right now to name the hirrrong company or specifics on the position" or "or if they claim an NDA and we cannot name the our client at this time" it's all pure BS. If they try a different smoke screen trying to talk about specifics on your resume, subtly asking for more details -while only offering advise on enhancing and building your resume- offering no specifics on any position they claim to be recruiting for - RUN! Be aware it's a bluff to cover their market research. Some like to do the resume BS to make themselves feel valid. Anyone who knows where we can report this activity when it happens, please speak up. Thank you.
