Recruiters are STARVING right now!!

hahaha!!!! those dirt-bags are still pretending to be candidate screeners? what a joke! oh thank you so much for asking a million questions about the company I am with, or about the company I left not too long ago. Sprinkle in a few nonsense questions before and after. Zero accountability for placement is pure Bullshit. Don't waste my time A hole

She does go by Jack and her name is Jacqueline.
How about a sex change.

Woman lover. Her parents gave her a great name Jacqueline she needs to say Jack to make a living.

So sad

It is suppose to be catchy. I could not imagine sitting in that office all day attempted to clinch diamonds from ass in hopes of making the mortgage. That has to make car sales look like the gravy train.

recruiters are not "starving" right now.
Those of you that think Linkedin is the hiring tool of the future are sadly mistaken.
There is a lot more to the process then having some minimum wage guy in your HR office looking up people on linkedin. Those of you that had bad experience with crappy recruiters, I get it, I totally do, those recruiters suck. There are plenty of bad recruiters out there, just like 80% of the sales reps out there are shit. The sales reps lie way more than the recruiters do, trust me.

Sales reps that sit around on cafepharma all day are usually unemployed and bitching about something, so take a step back and instead of blaming others, fix yourself and make 2015 a great year.

jackass.

Recruiters are a necessary evil in most industries. Especially Pharma.

Clearly a lot of you are in a position where you have free time to swan around on Linkedin looking for 4-5 heads to add to your staff, with specific skills and experience????

I on the other hand am not, i'm a busy senior professional with direct reports of 10 staff.
We are working hard and have expanded quite a bit since I started this project in 2010.

I work with one company, that has offices in a number of countries that can help with my global projects. And I have used them for the past 5 years. Not a bad word to say, I negotiated a set rate so I never get over charged and they manage all of my interviews and even my diary on the day of the interviews!

Come back to this site when you have to hire everyone in your team - then badmouth another human being that's trying to make a living.

obviously some are mis-understood. Sure, there are Fabulous recruiters out there. Like every aspect of business, you'll come across the great and the less than great. I think we can all take away from others sharing here, that there are great recruiters that provide a solid service. Then there are those that "claim to be recruiters," this type is purposefully mis-representing themselves. These phonies get their mis-leading web-sites and made-up domain names, then commit a complete dis-service to anyone they "interview." They feel zero shame and take time and information from solid intention-ed career seekers. It is one thing to work hard, and to place the best candidates in gainful positions. It is the opposite when others claim to be screening for positions but are in truth carefully selecting who they speak with. Then they ask questions that lead to gaining information that their competitor clients want them to uncover. After the contact, they divert the information, without the person they "screened" knowing, and then place the information in a competitive monitoring report. A report they are paid for by a competitor to compile. Last I checked, taking anything form any one without their full consent, is wrong.

The old adage about lawyers is also true for recruiters: 98% of them give the other 2% a bad reputation.

There used to be some really good recruiters who knew everybody in pharma and where to go with what candidate to match an opening.

They lost their grip when pharma started doing backflips and all of their HR and management contacts were downsized, thrown out, arrested or died. Now they submit everything through an HR portal that scans the text and doesn't match anyone to anything but software developers to a paycheck.

What I love about these recruiters is that

One woman calls you and she sounds like porn star and she is the assistant to the assistant of the main recruiter.

Then the assistant calls you and she try's to be the lock jaw aristocrat misstress type. So debonair so sophisticated.

Then you talk to the main lady and she sounds like she smokes a pack of reds a day and swirls scotch 4 times a day.

These losers need to go acting school and get into movies

Ahhhhhhhhahahahahahaha

How do you feel, what do you do, what if you become aware of a bloke that takes great advantage of his employees and takes great advantage of the people he tells his employees to reach out to for "business purposes?" For example, what if this guy claims to own quite a few profitable companies, say a recruitment firm, a health care consulting firm for physicians, a medical research company among others, but what if these might all really just be web sites and domain names that he owns only on paper? What if these "businesses" have never produced a single pence of profit? What if, for years, these fronts actually do zero work or have zero client for what they claim to do? What if these "businesses" have never operate in the way that they are presented to the public and were never intended to do as they claim either? What if these businesses on paper and the web might be all purely fronts? Fronts that he may train his employees that they must pretend to work for, perhaps as a means to gain information for what might be his true source of profit, a CI firm?

The biggest douche-bag is Brendan Cassidy at Davalyn. He'll call you and tell you all the people in your company who're looking for jobs, tell you all the company dirt told to him in confidence, then tell your own boss that you're looking - so beware. That's a guy who should be starving.

That is super low. Behavior like that should self limit any career in recruiting, damn fast. How does a person like this continue to make a living?

Who needs a recruiter when there is LinkedIn, if you know how to use it provides all of the info. you need to find the hiring manager. Many have found their last job via LI and the money they saved the company could be negotiated into a sign on bonus, your in sales right?
