Recruiters are STARVING right now!!

Pharmaforce Worldwide. I'm pretty sure they have never had a specific position to recruit for. Have never placed a candidate. They asked me a whole lot of market specific questions.

Hold on, my partner has been looking to change companies. Resume is out there. Receiving a great deal of activity from all types of recruiters. Linked in in mail, e-mails, even phone calls out of the blue from "recruiters." Do we need to be leery of the "recruiters" that contact potential candidates without any specifics on the position they are looking to fill? Just stumbled across this thread. Are there really market research companies out there that are hired by pharma bio-pharma to research their competitors in any market? Do they really stoop so low as buy a domain name that sounds like a recruiter, and create a web site as a front? Their management actual directs their research employees to make pretend they are recruiters, and call candidates with a working history, current or former with specific competitors? Do they rely knowingly waste peoples time pretending to be interviewing for a possible future position, however vague? Are they actually snooping for pipeline, launch, marketing and sales specifics? Isn't that intellectual property, and isn't this a form of fraud?

PHARMA RECRUITER HERE: I am astounded by what I have read on this thread. There are literally tens of thousands of great opportunities is big pharma companies. Why stay where you are?? Why not get a 50% salary boost and enhance your career? Call your friendly pharma recruiter. Just type in pharma recruiters in your browser and open a whole new world.

We are placing up to hundreds a week out of NYC office. Jobs all over the US. We have reps at the 5 year experience level now getting $150K a year. Its a golden age in big pharma and biotech.

Anyone working near the Hilton in Parsipanny New Jersey interested in attending the Pharma CI conference there on September 10th and 11th, 2015? Interested in going in and asking vendors how it is that they snoop around our conferences, and spend time on the phone and linked-in posing as recruiters and get away with it? How about asking them to stop ruining the name of valid recruiters and sign something that states they will follow their own ethical guidelines? Make Vow to not have fake unprofitable for what they claim to be domain names and/or websites? Vow to no longer lure people into taking on false pretenses? They're known to hang around bars at our conventions dropping lines about their degrees, asking pointed questions.

BS again, great.

Company culture is where it is at, not the money anyway.

solid points regarding questions that should be raised at US Pharma CI conference in the 10th and 11th of this month at Parsippany NJ Hilton. We are all tightly regulated and monitored for ethics. Makes good sense to Make sure the Snitches are closely regulated and monitored for how they collect dirt on competitors. Especially on how the third party "market research" and "consultant" rats for hire conduct their daily research. Enough of their upper management verbally claiming "they all do It to each other so they all look the other way." Just another example of the many half truths they so comfortably toss around.

not sure how they are able to get any legit attendance at this meeting year after year now. Honestly, they all are ridiculously desperate to form a contract and collect for any company. Ultimately this was a room full of people pretending. This type is so evasive with anything that might be factual. Not hard to see that while on a contract and collecting "for" one company, they would not bat an eyelash at any chance to collect "on" that same company. They'll do anything for a fee. Talk about a compromised crew of professional con artists. Ethics was tossed out the window a long time ago.

I have never been placed in a job with a recruiter and so far, 18years in this industry, I find them totally worthless and rude. They try and draw you in with these uncapped bonuses and it goes no where. The manger always goes with the internal hire. Recruiters waste my time!!!

Success happens with recruiters who work directly for the hiring company, more so even with the Contract sales recruiters. They actually have specific positions and they place people in the specific positions. ANY time you are asked questions by anyone with nothing specific to offer be very leery. There are those that pose as recruiters, and are trained on how to ask questions so you don't realize you are being used. They ask broad un-alarming questions first, then pretend to be interested in certain areas, go specific with the questions, get what they are paid to find out, then switch back to broad casual question. All of this is strategically formatted to leave you feeling un-violated. Sad truth is, those in the Pharma CI business, violate and steel professional knowledge every day.

I have met more dumb and lazy male recruiters than women. One make recruiter just told me ..I never read the resume. Do you want me to forward your name. After he gave me a job title... Said he had no time for reading the resume. What an idiot. It was for a director job. Male recruiters have been some if the laziest and obnoxious... I found my last two jobs via people who knew who I was and the hiring manager called me directly....in fact five jobs I found ..were I knew someone there. Or I applied and got called in. I have used women as recruiters too and they are all very good. Men just place anyone..get a commission..I avoid them like the plague.

Throwing out a specific group of recruiters, based purely on gender huh? Might want to think that through a little more. How would you feel about a person in the position to hire, dismissing any group of qualified people based purely on a statistic such as you speak? Not to good huh
