If Primary Care reps are cut then DSMs will be downsized and if DSMs are downsized then they can reduce 7 Regionals down to 4 North, South, East & West. Best of what's left, Top 5% of half a PC sales force gets to pack their bags for President's Club. Operation Excellence!

Not sure if Vertex can access info on JH Region 7 Director otherwise we wouldn't have gotten him from GSK in the first place with all his HR complaints there. Heard GSK was glad to get rid of him. Just look at the unprecedented EXTREMELY High TURNOVER under Region 7 "leadership" compared to ALL other regions. Both Roche & Genentech pride themselves as an employer of choice and to retain good people. Region 7 isn't 70% bad any explanations for 70% turnover?

Just talk to LO, he knows all the info. Do you know he's going around telling people that JH is taking his favorite DMs and reps with him? He's also trying to contact the Vertex HR dept and share all the complaints and lawsuits the JH has had at Roche. Now THAT's an ethical guy for ya! Go back to your couch LO!

Any competent person would recruit what they consider to be their best people, to join them. I dont know who JO is, but why would Vertex care about Roche HR issues? As far as law suits, again, why would Vertex care (anyone can file a suit). What could happen though is that JO could be sued by JH if he is doing what you say he is.

So let me see if I'm understanding this correctly, he terminates 70% of his workforce as you have disdainfully mentioned, hires talented,sharp and hard working people and develops them to move product (a novel concept.) Subsequently he is ranked #1 in the nation time after time after time. What does that tell you about the people he let go? What does that tell you about his ability to lead and put numbers up on the scoreboard? Results don't lie, numbers don't lie. Hate the game not the player...

Yeah, Im sure you've seen video proof of an ongoing affair. You also saw his review and salary right? Anyway what I do know for a fact is that he is leaving with the only region at 100% of goal, and he won PCA a couple of years ago. Not bad for a young RSD here only 4 years. Anyway, he's got the last laugh. He starts an exciting new career with an absolutely revolutionary new drug, at a great company. You on the otherhand are biting your nails, waiting to be dismissed from a sinking ship. Everyone has some issues, even you. I know JH, and one thing I know is that he is as sharp as a tack,

AMEN! Another thought for JH haters. This is a business not a social club. Whether you like a persons attitude, the way he walks, talks, etc, has nothing to do with their business accomplishments, business acumen, ability t lead, ability to get results. I say Amen; it is very clear that if he booted "70%" of his DSMs, and his region consistently thrived at the top, he clearly did the right thing. He was here to run a business, not be your pal. If he did get a bad review, which is not the end of the world, Im sure he made needed adjustments and grew from the adversity.

Nobody said you did, but the two are also not mutually exclusive. Whether you think someone is an a-hole or not is personal, and not quanitifiable; its is strictly opinion. What is quantifiable is his success. There are many successful leaders, that were not personally endeared by their followers, but the results spoke for themselves. Especially in the business world, for example, Martha Stewart, Jack Welch, Donald Trump. The list goes on and on. We can debate about whether they are likable, but their talent, results, and success are beyond reproach. The same goes for JH. Im sure that in this economy, mann applied for his job, yet he got it. Obviously Vertex doesnt care if he is warm and fuzzy either. They are in the business of generating prescriptions. If you want warm and fuzzy, there are careers such as early childhood education, and social work. This business is a results business.
