Phathom

Our teams are making the final preparations for a combined December 2023 U.S. commercial launch for H. pylori along with the anticipated launch of vonoprazan for Erosive GERD, if approved. It’s Not the Indication needed to support this sales force expansion. If the GERD doesn’t pass, it’s lights over. That indication is scheduled for November 17th or possibly earlier (though likely not).
I launched a drug with a biotech that had 2 indications and the third (blockbuster)was denied with a CRL. Given the history with this drug, I can’t say what anyone should do except don’t quit your current job until after November 17th (or double dip). I passed awhile ago (September) salary wasn’t high enough even with equity. Good luck everyone! PS after our 3rd indication failed we had massive layoffs.

Obviously, you don't understand the science. This was a manufacturing concern, not a clinical or safety one. The concern has been addressed with today's approval. Sorry you didn't get the job.

Exactly. Today's approval will go for the 11/17 approval as well. It was all about the trace levels of nitrosamine.

Any way this doesnt become a multi billion dollar drug assuming future approvals? 65 million lives and 800 dollars for 14 days??? The worst drugs i have sold even had a 1-5% market share. Thoughts?

The potential is absolutely there except I don’t see it happening at Phathom. The will be sold by then.

We are getting sold. Facts:

-we are adding so many reps so fast -obviously we want to make a quick revenue splash for potential buyers

-Terrie is exhausted
-3 of the 4 biggest institutional holders want out

-the quicker the Sale, the less the severance

best of luck to all, but at least our interviewing skills will be fresh

Getting sold can have many scenarios, depends on who buyer is. If someone sacrificed a current job for this job, they could get the equity offered in buyers stock/or cash. The management could also negotiate to keep employees (although for short period of time: Horizon/Amgen). This would be a great gig for someone unemployed or a Primary Care rep looking to get into specialty. One thing for certain, if the drug is approved, the pressure will be Very High, because the goal is to be sold. The manager I got an offer from didn’t hesitate to tell me One Quarter miss = PIP. Best of luck everyone!

this scares the crap outta me, but need to leave current job. How long would you give it? 1 year? 2 years? Less?

Amazing how so many on this board speak with so much authority. And the people who believe everything they read don’t help matters. None of these “facts” are even close to true. Where do you get your intel and how do you sleep at night?seem to be another Red hill troll that didn’t get past the phone screen

Or maybe management from other companies trying to dissuade their reps from leaving.

First time commenting-from experience as a rep that sold branded products when theres an existing generic…. I got zilch. one company pushed everyone out including VP’s with no equity/severance. Just a layoff.

I see phathom has venture capital but are they really sharing that with the reps….equity means nothing if the territories barely grow.

Is this product already pre stocked at the pharmacies? thats takes several million in a launch. does phathom have a specialty pharmacy/mail order? thats gonna eat up revenue quick.

True that. I’ve had terrible leadership but some good ones in my past. My old manager gaslit me into thinking we would be millionaires bc we were going to sell out. Used to sell adzenys before I was at a startup with her. She is now a stay at home mom, thankfully she won’t have the chance to further infect our industry.

I’m impressed with the hiring manager I met. Asked thoughtful questions that were different from the usual corporate handbook. I was asked at my current job how do I sell when I can’t offer the same concessions as my competitors like…..really….

Just buy enough shares you wont lose sleep over a possible loss. A wealth management advisor told me there’s other things with a stronger return than pharma. its just big risk possible big return with this one.
