Bullshit. Path inc employees will be Labcorp employees too. In the other mentioned (Pathnet) case, Labcorp had their LabCorp employees help to train the newly acquired employees before they gave them the boot, and it was a HUGE shock for them. However, you are right. The sales manager did come from Lab West (formerly Westcliff). He was the one who sold management on replacing the LabCorp employees with the Lab West (formerly West cliff) employees because they were his people. Remember Kip.

An exception doesn't disprove a rule. If you think ANY acquirer, let alone Labcorp, doesn't have a bias toward their own, then you're just naive. I don't think you have any idea how pervasive cronyism within the Labcorp culture is.

Everyone knows that the prior Pathnet, Labwest, and PathInc employees are AWESOME!!! .

They say an acquired lab dies three times. Once after the signatures, again after the purging and finally the last time its name is uttered. In just a few short months, no one will ever mention Pathinc again.

Path Inc employees, cast those worries to the wind. Besides, the last time I heard thaT the LabCorp logo had been removed from the building on Huntington Drive. Nice lab, but not without a price tag. Best advice is to put all the extra cash you have into the LabCorp employee stock program and take a look in the employee manual for the severance packages.

I'm not hoping for anything, just stating my opinion. I have no stake in this very minor acsquisition. Seniority is too close to merit, so I agree, it doesn't mean a thing. We'll see what happens to those in the pathology group. They're certainly primed to be recruited to another company.
