Path Inc

I've worked here a very long time. I've seen it all. WestCliff Lab? Anyone, anyone?? Most of those managers didn't know how to play with the big boys, most were eventually fired. You have no idea what you are in for. I hope you can keep up.
Have you lost your friggen mind? There is nothing mysterious about this. Perhaps those managers did not last because they lacked certain character flaws. Perhaps the were excellent at what the said and earned a very good income.Perhaps they were genuine, respectful, actually had an original thought, Or a " BACKBONE ". These are considered deficits in the land of LabCorp. The bean counters are in charge. You are micromanaged every ay every step and an independent thinker with heart is not appcreciated or welcome.

If you are a consummate liar, and bully, who will sell out you mother for a few shillings, possess the skill to always find a subordinate to scapegoat, and to easily bamboozle upper management, able and willing to follow all instructions ,no matter how outrageous, and make moves only when inststructed to do so, you will fit right in.

Exactly my point. Duplication of tasks. I didn't say we don't need help but I guarantee you it won't go down like you think it will. Path Inc employees are very naive to think it will. In the beginning it will be the status quo but things will change. Only the very best will survive on both sides. Labcorp didn't buy your company for its leadership.

Seriously? What kind standards are you talking about because your bar has to be set awfully low. I got the hell out of there and the only time I look back is to check these forums or how my LC stock is behaving. You are a joke. Go back to sleep.

If LabCorp purged Covance senior leadership, which they did, why would they hesitate on Path Inc?

The difference from Covance is that Pah Inc Managers are actually hands on. They work and they are expert at what they do. (They don't waste their valuable time finding ways to blame someone else for all of the screw ups.)

I have a feeling you know nothing about Covance leadership and therefore can’t say they are less hands-on. Either way, it still wouldn’t be a reason to keep their leadership. I think what the prior poster was alluding to, is that Labcorp is not a meritocracy and will find ways to keep their own.

What I think you both are missing is the fact that the PI leadership will cash out ASAP. This was the point of it all. And the very last thing they would do is go back to work for a big box lab again.

Like many on this board, I’ve been through it before. Business as usual, you’ll be told for the first couple of months. And, you probably have another conference call this week between Christmas and New Year’s. By Spring, there will be a complete cleansing of anything Pathinc. By Summer, an old Pathinc lockbox, repurposed for a rag bucket, will be the only trace of its legacy.

Let it go people.

Then why did you keep your LC stock? Why do you check the forum? Sorry you couldn't hang. Move on honey.

Duh...I check the forum for precisely the reason it is here. Occasionally there is sound information here. I own the stock because it is a company who that knows how to turn a profit, but happily, no longer at my expense. No go back to your kool aid.

And I have a feeling that any decisions being made are way above your pay grade. You don't know what is going down You can only make predictions from your personal perspective. Remember Pathnet ? Don't say it won't happen again, because you do not know.

LabCorp needs a full service Los Angeles lab. Path Inc's location is perfect. Stat labs are inadequate.

Agreed. LabCorp is no meritocracy, but it doesn't follow that it won't get rid of its own we have all seen that happen. And loyalty does no exist there, so what are you talking about?I I asked about Pathnet who was acquired by LabCorp. Guess what? LabCorp dumped their own for Westcliff employees. They merged the labs and fired LabCorp (former Pathnet) employees.Say it isn't true.

Lab Corp's upper management must go. This estrogen filled group is completely worthless. They haven't brought anything good and breed fear for all. Managers throw reps under the bus and love to take credit where credit isn't due. Either way, it would be wise to find another gig because this place will be plucking away at the weak.

Well if you concede that LabCorp is not a meritocracy, then it follows that you think cronyism, nepotism, seniority, popularity or other non-merit things are fueling their culture. So surely you would think this type of “decision making” would be in play when redundancies are addressed. And although, as you point out, LabCorp don’t always keep their own, it’s been my experience that a strong bias for their own employees rules.

Bullshit. Path inc employees will be Labcorp employees too. In the other mentioned (Pathnet) case, Labcorp had their LabCorp employees help to train the newly acquired employees before they gave them the boot, and it was a HUGE shock for them. However, you are right. The sales manager did come from Lab West (formerly Westcliff). He was the one who sold management on replacing the LabCorp employees with the Lab West (formerly West cliff) employees because they were his people. Remember Kip.

Bottom line this place is all about who makes less, keeps their mouth shut, and follows instructions. You can be pretty certain in office draw stations will not fly going forward, and those that exist will be scrutinized and if it's compliant, this includes outside patient mix, and there's a duplication it has an excellent chance of being closed. The PathInc reps probably make more than the LCA RMBD's. Don't forget one thing about management from all of the LCA acquisitions including PathInc. If a manager is good and has a backbone they may have decided it wasn't for them and moved on themselves. In PathIncs case there is some management that has already decided this. Contractually some management may be contracted for a period of time to ensure the success of the acquisition. This is common and probably no different in this situation. You will never really know for six months to a year unless you are told directly. If you want to stay do whatever anyone tells you with a smile, when they say jump ask how high, take on special projects with a smile, when billing adjustments aren't done, or your clients yell at you continue to support LCA, make quota, and don't lose business. You'll be fine!

Karma for the bitch in LA. She tried to get an account back and was asked not to come back. She better not be my manager. Offices actually like Path Inc managers. This sucks.
