Oh, I have a clue. The clue is "so far." You're free to believe what you want.

Path Inc, help is needed in Monrovia. Huge Pap smear backlog. Hear that 3 cytotechs quit. Why aren't their Labcorp loyal cytotech manager and cytotech supervisor helping out by reading slides over the week end, too. There are no rules to break for Labcorp makes its own rules. All hands on deck, but volunteers, of course. Wouldn't want to encourage the Union, IRS, or the Labor Board.

We have Path Inc now, plan on shutting down Monrovia soon.
Really! Somebody is going to have to read those Monrovia slides. Who?That's for sure! Hold tight people, it's closing soon.
Have you ever been encouraged to work overtime by intimidion and the use of gestopo tactics. Initially, the daily volume of Paps was low so they padded your daily workloads with seeded abnormal slides to enhance the volume and other nefarious reasons. When 3 techs quit, and nobody was hired to replace them, a backlog mounted, making them tense and nervous. "Omg, Corporate won't approve." The only thing they have going for them is tat, after all. Now, they corner and blindside you by using veiled threats and faulty statistics against you in order to force you to volunteer to work weekends. For instance, using stats to say you turned in too any slides for pathologist review for a couple of months when they know that they had been seeding your workload with abnormal slides. Not to mention that what they pay is way below the going rate for overtime. No one wonders why those Cytotechs left.
Now this is the kicker: Although most of the slides may be backed up, there is one thing you can be sure of, the lab director's personal accounts are never late and are, as a rule processed and read first. Ummmmm, LOL.
What has happened to humanity and just doing the right thing?
Good question. However techs do not sign out abnormal Paps . If the pathologist agrees with the tech's diagnosis, what is the problem? Unless a tech is severely under calling, like diagnosing high grade lesions as reactive or asc-us, there is no problem. Any games being played , especially like the ones suggested are a waste. And that's a no brainier.

Cytotechnology is a dead field. This discussion is a waste. All of you will be out of work soon. Pap test has no future
